Hotel Asteri by Hotel Chain Asteri — Hotel in Bansko

At the beginning of February we visited Hotel Asteri, the former Hotel Sofia in Bansko with a preliminary reservation made by phone and a prepaid deposit. What was our surprise when we found out that we could not stay there for the first night! The manager, Mr. Stanko Dobrev, without apology, offered to move us for one night to another hotel and offered compensation for the evenings on the principle of half board, with a discount of 20 to 15 levs per person. To my logical question, why they didn't call to inform us in advance, he answered that "they called me, but I was undetectable". There was no such call, just as there was no message. It was explained to me rather rudely that "I did not understand something." In the same way "I did not understand" that the parking is paid extra, as well as the spa area. We saw in the official information of the hotel that the dinner per person on the half board is BGN 16 and the discount from Mr. Stanko is actually BGN 1, not BGN 5 as he initially presented it. I kept "not understanding" and looking for an explanation, but I found only rude and arrogant behavior on the part of Mr. Stanko. I saw that for dinner a person is given a glass of draft wine or beer in the price of dinner, but such was never offered to us. When we tried to order, we were told by the waiter that he was not allowed to serve such drinks. After another lie by Mr. Stanko, it is normal to feel not just disappointed, but extremely offended. I feel sorry for the many Romanian and Ukrainian guests who are deceived and lied to at every turn. They wanted BGN 10 per day for parking, provided that the municipal one was next door and was completely free. I must note that the high rating of the hotel is due to its previous management, as this person we came across has been managing it since November 2020. Briefly more information about the conditions - The furniture in the rooms is slightly outdated and neglected. There is no lift and you have to pick up your luggage yourself. The spa complex is very small, uncomfortable and has mold everywhere, the jacuzzi cannot be used without the intervention of staff. The food for dinner is monotonous and not very tasty. Portions are small. The cook has a tendency to over fried and oversalt. They offer mainly one type of chicken, pork and local sausage. Salads are small. Free drinks for dinner are not served, although they are included in the price. You can buy them at a big premium. Parking is paid. Last but not least, the behavior of Mr. Stanko Dobrev is unacceptable and repulsive. When he is away from the hotel the atmosphere is more pleasant and the rest of the staff...

В края на януари посетих със семейството си за 5 дена хотел Астери, който до преди 2 месеца се е казвал София. Още с влизането на рецепцията ни посрещна отблъскващата арогантност на новия наемател, управителя Станко, който се назова и „собственик“ на хотела. Оказа се, че двете резервации на апартамент и стая са объркани и апартаментът ще се обитава от украинци до следващия ден. Вместо да получим извинение за обърканата резервация, бяхме обвинени, че сме непрестанно с изключен телефон, докато те ни звънели и затова не ни предупредили. Така и не получихме SMS известия от А1 за тези „обаждания“. Още ги чакаме… Бяхме поставени пред свършен факт, обидени и силно разочаровани. Приятелите ни се настаниха в своята стая, а ние за една вечер отпътувахме за някакъв апарт-хотел на километър от там. Плановете ни за общи занимания с приятелите пропаднаха. Те бяха там, а ние – далеч. Децата ни също бяха разделени. На следващия ден успяхме да се настаним, вече успешно в заветния хотел. Арогантното поведение на човека зад рецепцията обаче продължи. Предложи ни half-board (плюс вечеря), който струва 20 лв на човек, да ни го даде за 15 лв заради сгрешената резервация. Подаде ни и приветствена листовка с описание на правилата и кратко представяне на предлаганите активности. Там пишеше, че вечерята всъщност е 16 лв, а не 20 лв, като се полагат дори по бира и чаша вино в нея, които сервитьорите упорито ни караха да си плащаме по 5 лв всяка! Не получихме обяснение за това „разминаване“, но и не искахме повече да си разваляме почивката. Срещу хотела е празният общински безплатен паркинг, но Станко не го показваше на чуждите си румънски и украински гости, а ги насочваше към едно съседно дворче-паркинг срещу 10 лв дневно. Стаите са захабени, очукани и миришещи на мухъл. СПА-то също. Ресторантът предлага еднообразна вечеря, аматьорски сготвена и в много скромно количество. Добре, че бяха децата,че да се нахраним, дояждайки чиниите им. Закуската за 4 души е дъсчица с по 4-5 резенчета салам, суджук, сирене и кашкавал, които са крайно недостатъчни. I have been lied that I was able, although the trip was paid, to reschedule the dates as they remain open for whenever I decide to use the booking. A few months later the property gave me non existing phone numbers to call, a few calls later they have told me that it is now late and I cannot claim a stay. Super incorrect behaviour considering the Covid 19 situation....
