We stayed at Hotel Flamingo in August 2018 for one week and had a less than average experience. ||||Rooms:||||We had a family room overlooking the pool on the second floor. The room was a good size with a large double bed and two singles for children with a nice balcony. The room was cleaned as described in the room guide however it did feel that it was probably only hoovered once in the whole week.||||The bathroom had a really bad issue with the drains which pretty much made the whole room smell like fish for the whole week. On the whole, I could not complain about the room. It had a mini-bar which was not all-inclusive. You are specifically told not to bring food and drinks back to the room which is ridiculous when you have a small family.||||Food:||||Breakfast - Includes a limited choice of hot breakfast, typically cold fried eggs/scrambled/boiled depending on the day, fried or boiled sausages, deep fried eggy bread plus a selection of bread and cereal. Not horrendous but the same every single day.||||Lunch: ||||Pretty bad lunch options, very bland, dry and several times encountered pink chicken (in the middle) be careful before you eat.||||Dinner: ||||Slight improvement on Lunch but tended to be the same bland options most days with some changes like soggy calamari. The only plus was the ice-cream for the kids but be careful as the spoons tend to end up with cross-contamination - a prime candidate for upset stomachs. ||||Food Service:||||This is buffet style service so get there early to avoid significant queues (especially for evenings). The staff in the restaurant have zero enthusiasm, a smile now and again or any expression on their face would make such a difference. The plate collectors look in absolute fear of the food manager who awaits you prior to going into the restaurant. ||||Their mission is to get you in and out of the restaurant as fast as possible. It is absolutely ridiculous as several times they took my plate from beneath me whilst I was putting food into my mouth or mid-sandwich. They have zero ideas on how to tend tables - again this would make a huge difference. ||||All Inclusive: ||||Forget the phrase all-inclusive. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner have three two hour slots throughout the day. During lunch and dinner, you can have either the 3% (dubious) Diana Beer in tiny plastic cups or your choice of Vinegar Wine (White, Red, Rose). If you go here looking to enjoy some alcohol then think again. It would probably take 20 beers to get any feeling that you have enjoyed a pint.||||Like I said the effort is to drive you into the restaurant and out as fast as possible. The alcohol is only available in the restaurant (as part of the all-inclusive) and not available in the lobby bar or the pool bar. Buying drinks from here comes at a charge - around 4 LEV for a beer. Tip - I found an English Pub/Restaurant about 2 mins walk - turn right as you leave the hotel barrier (it's in another hotel) but they serve Local Beer (500ml) for 1 LEV - meaning 4 for the Price of 1!||||You are not meant to take any food or drinks from the restaurant so be warned. I saw at least three arguments with guests and the stern restaurant manager who took offence to one guest walking out with a bread roll. ||||Cleanliness: ||||My 2-year-old son picked up a bug whilst staying at the hotel and had vomiting and the rest for around 3 days. My son was, unfortunately, sick in the high chair twice and we cleaned up the mess but then informed not one, but two but three staff that it should be cleaned with some kind of disinfectant. To which they replied (but it's not dirty...it's clean)!!!! It was not a case of them not understanding us but just no idea about food hygiene. ||||Health & Safety||||The pool is not overseen by anyone in terms of like a lifeguard, but it is a small pool anyway. We did see the pool service cover left open for over 1 hour which was crazy seeing as there were lots of small children running around and could have fallen to a significant injury. The pool area is incredibly slippery so watch out - one guest broke their arm in two places and I saw two others with injuries in my week there.||||The kids play area has seen better days and is quite dangerous as the astroturf was laid on top of a wonky area with tree stumps growing through it. Full supervision is required if you have small kids.||||Internet:||||There is free wifi in the lobby area which can be hit and miss. I purchased 5 days of the internet for the room for 15 LEV but then found out that this was available everywhere in the hotel but only paired to one device. Again the strength of this is poor so forget using Skype etc for calls.||||Pool Bar: ||||The pool bar is quite nice with some comfy chairs but the best spot is always reserved for the management/owners who have it reserved in the prime position, along with the Bentley, Ferrari and Mercedes bang in front of the reception area. There is a definite feeling of them and us with this hotel but whatever floats your boat :)||||Volume: ||||Like any cheap resort, the area is quite loud, it backs on to the main road but you do not hear too much noise in the evening. We did have one incident mid week into our stay when at 5 am a full argument broke out in the hallway by our room. It was not Russian, Polish, Czech or English but what sounded like either Bulgarian or Romanian. This went on for around 15 mins and when I got up I saw that someone had put their foot through the wall in the hallway. This wasn't fixed and seemed to get bigger as the week went on!||||Reception:||||Here is my biggest warning. Be careful with the reception staff if you have an early check out. We went down to check out and the two guys (one reception one bell boy looking guy) were laying on the sofas and sprung into action. ||||As we checked out they asked if we had anything from the mini-bar. To which we replied no. Then the small impish looking bell boy went up to one of the rooms in our party. He returned with a small bottle of Gin, that had been opened and taken a small swig from. 100% swear on my children's life we had not drunk this bottle. To which they were smiling and demanding that we pay for it.||||This went on more so out of principle. I had paid up my own mini bar bill the day prior. My friends did not have any LEV so I begrudgingly had to pay for it. Their attitude was horrendous and it felt like this was a little trick to pull off earning a few extra LEV everyday. Be warned - double check your mini-bar before you check out and take a couple of pictures to make sure.||||This final encounter kind of ruined our trip to be honest and left us with a bad taste in our mouths. The hotel is cheap and uncheerful so you kind of get what you pay for. ||||Would not recommend this place to anyone. I took a picture of the reception guy that stole from us so if the management are reading this and don't have the 4 LEV on record on the day we checked out then I can send the...
