Spa Hotel Romance Splendid — Hotel in Varna

NOT 4 STARS, NO SPA. The heating vent made us sick, because it hasn't been maintained (we made sure to test is and we got a sore throat and headache). My room smells like cigarette smoke (many others too), which is an issue because they fine you two hundred euros for smoking inside your room... When your room smells like this, that's just horrible. No matter how much I ventilate, it smells bad. Wi-Fi is terrible, interruptions and very slow. Free breakfast (egg, yogurt, coffee). But restaurant Food is over-priced... 15 euros (see picture, e.g. side dish with Carrots... 10g of Carrots? And no sauce). The drinks from the bar are also over-priced.. 7 euro for 40 ml Jägermeister (200 ml cost 6 euro in the store next door). The interior of the rooms, hotel and the services that they offer certainly have seen better times. The indoor pool is always closed and the sauna is not working for the last five years (staff told me). So I don't really understand HOW they are allowed to call themselves spa hotel... maybe because they offer very expensive massages... The staff is mostly friendly, so that's ok.... But if you are looking for a spa hotel with sauna, and a gym, you are going to be disappointed, big time The gym consists of three cardio machines, one multi strength machine from 20 years ago, and one smith machine... all of them terrible. If you only do cardio, ok.. but its not a gym, its a tiny room with a few dumbbell weights (max. 10kg), insufficiently equipped to be called gym. Tbh, first I thought, they have a second...

We stayed here as a group of three in the beginnin of march what is still off season and the weather was kind of cold. Therefore we were even more happy to have such a cozy apartment where we had a well equipped kitchen and a comfortable living room to share some time and have meals together. The bathroom was also spacious and clean, the beda were comfy and we had a very good sleep and even a washing machine for clothes was in our apartment. The wifi was ok, in other apartments it might be a better connection, but no issue. There were also enough parking lots available during our stay. For our stay, the price performance was great, would definitely stay again here for this time of the year. Overall, highly...

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL !! THIS IS A HEALTH HAZARD. No Spa and No swimming pool. The pool in the photos is racing green in colour and full of deadly bacteria. The air conditioning units in the room have contained legionella made us both extremely unwell and consequently it nearly killed my wife. Photos can be be provided of the state of the pool. There needs to be a below poor rating for this hotel which is a risk to health. The lack of awareness of the dangers legionaries can cause, in most cases, death, is absolutely disgusting. Clearly a corrupt hotel with some very serious issues. The owners should be imprisoned. Photos of the non existing spa to follow....
