very bad experience here. i have signed one month contract. other than the swimming pool, this hotel needs to improve general things. It LOOKS ok and they seem to try very hard to keep clients comfortable but nothing really improves.
For one month stay, the electricity bill was not included in the room charge. 900$ for standard room for 30 days plus extra electricity on check out day. what i paid in the end for electricity is 408$. Not very much of benefits for one month stay. My client stayed there for two week and one week no one stayed and i stayed for three nights and i let my staff stay for two night and the last night no one stayed. so totally about 19 days staying and 11 days the room was empty. My client didn’t even keep the room key in the key box and when i stayed for three nights , one day there was black out issue. The black out only for guests rooms not at the lobby. The elevator didn’t work so i had to walk down the stairs. I was working in the room and i heard very annoying electricity running sound from the key box and i sent many msgs to the front desk but it happened on and on for the day. I ruined my whole day. when i complained about the black out, the hotel blamed the governor for that issue. Should i fight or report the problem to the governor? Sihanoukville is full of casino and hotels. but why only Riva has the black out issue. and they blame it to the governor. In my sense, come on!!! U need a better answer for this and u need to fix that issue for ur better business
To be honest, the food and the drink itself was good. Riva has a potential but need an urgent change for customer service. When i needed to talk to the manager on the repeated black out day, the hotel receptionist told me to come down to talk to the manager. My room problem was the noise of key box without supply of electricity, how does the manger know the noise if he doesn’t come up to my room? I can’t deliver the noise to the manager. Please be more cautious for the customer service if u really want to be genuine and serious about ur hotel business.
And the shower stinks with sewage smell from the floor. this also need to be fixed and when they do house keeping, they need to use clean mops. The floor stinks after the old dirty unsanitzed filty mopping
I hope this review to be helpful for the long stay guests. Great price for travelers with...
Read moreMy recent stay at Riva Sihanoukville was an experience I am eager to share, marked by exceptional comfort, outstanding service, and excellent value for money.
Luxurious Bed and Room Service: One of the most remarkable aspects of my room was the large and incredibly comfortable bed. The pillows were soft and clean, contributing to a peaceful night's sleep. Additionally, the room service was exceptional, attentive to my needs and quick to respond, which added a layer of convenience and luxury to my stay.
Well-Equipped Bathrooms: I was pleasantly surprised to find that even the cheapest room came equipped with a bathtub. This added feature in the bathroom was a delightful touch, allowing for moments of relaxation and comfort.
Room Selection Tips: A small tip for future guests - when booking your stay, opt for a room with a beach view. While the city view rooms are nice, they overlook a football field, which can get noisy at times. The serene beach view, on the other hand, offers a more tranquil and picturesque experience.
Impeccable Amenities and Service: The cleanliness and spaciousness of the room, combined with the comprehensive amenities, made my stay exceptionally comfortable. The hotel’s facilities, including the convenient onsite bar, the refreshing pool on the 10th floor, and the gym, although not fully equipped, contributed to an overall enjoyable experience.
Value for Money and Outstanding Staff: The pricing of the rooms is quite reasonable, especially considering the inclusion of a quality breakfast with a satisfactory selection. The customer service, especially the commendable efforts of the manager, Mr. Panha, in handling my booking error, was a standout aspect. His efficient and accommodating approach was greatly appreciated.
Overall Experience: Riva Sihanoukville strikes the perfect balance between luxury and value, making it an excellent choice for travelers. The combination of a comfortable bed, excellent room service, and thoughtful amenities, coupled with the reasonable pricing and exceptional staff service, makes this hotel a top recommendation. I’ve already advised colleagues heading to Sihanoukville to consider staying here, and I extend the same recommendation to anyone looking for a comfortable,...
Read moreI really can’t fault this hotel! I only stayed one night as a stopover after leaving Koh Rong and heading to the airport the next day, but it had everything I needed and more. Upon check-in, I apparently had booked for Dec 2025 🤣, but they changed my reservation there and then with no charge. In Europe they would never do that! All the toiletries were great, and everything was branded with the hotel logo. It was the most professional hotel I stayed in throughout my 2 weeks in Cambodia. It’s very new, luxury style with a Chinese vibe but no complaints from me. The room was huge, modern, clean and had everything you need. The staff were all super friendly, helpful and spoke good English. My door wouldn’t lock properly before I went to bed and they sent the maintenance team right away to fix the issue, which I was impressed with at 10pm. The pool, gym and rooftop is a real asset and impressive views, shame I didn’t have time to use it properly. I think I paid £45 for the room with breakfast and for this money, it was perfect and really good value for money. The breakfast could be a bit better (only one type of fruit and mainly Asian dishes), but they made me a fresh omelette which was lovely. The staff also let me have a free bottle of water when I checked out as I didn’t have cash, that was appreciated. I agree with others about location but this isn’t the hotel’s fault, it’s what Sihanoukville is and it’s the Cambodian’s government fault for making it a Chinese enclave for gambling and illegal money laundering and all the other nefarious activities that I’ve read go on here. I actually liked the fact I could walk to the Novotel in 5 mins and enjoy the beach bar. 100% recommend, I felt safe, comfortable and relaxed here. A special mention to S. Pisey at the Front Desk who checked me out and was very kind and helpful. I don’t have kids but can see this being perfect for a family too with the pool and they had a cute playground outside on the ground floor. I also liked the Christmas decorations everywhere as I keep forgetting it’s nearly Xmas…...
