I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Fairfield Phnom Penh by Marriott, and I must say that my experience was truly impressive. As a frequent guest at various Marriott properties around the world, I can confidently say that the service and hospitality at this hotel rival that of a 5-star establishment, despite Fairfield being known as a business segment brand, rather than a luxury one.
The check-in experience was excellent. The front desk staff displayed professionalism and a positive attitude throughout the process. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they even had a dedicated bellhop, which is not typically expected at a Fairfield hotel, as they are mostly self-service establishments.
The hotel's interior design and decorations are simple yet classic, with ample use of wood that gives it a touch of Japanese influence. The room itself was wonderful, providing plenty of storage space. I had two 28-inch suitcases, and there was no need to worry about space constraints. The room featured a clever design with sliding doors that separated the living area from the toilet and shower, making efficient use of the available space—an aspect I particularly appreciated.
I must highlight the exceptional shower experience I had during my stay. The water pressure was impressively strong, and the shower faucet was easy to use. The shower gel and shampoo provided were of the "NIRVAE" brand, the same as those offered at the Courtyard Marriott in Taipei.
The room boasted a 55-inch Samsung smart TV with screen-sharing capabilities, allowing guests to play videos from their own devices. Additionally, there was a Bluetooth speaker inside the room, although it was not from a well-known brand.
I enjoyed the large window in the room, which provided a pleasant view. The double-layered windows effectively insulated the room from external noise. The room's door, made of thick metal, further enhanced soundproofing.
The bedding was excellent, ensuring a comfortable and restful sleep throughout my stay.
I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to Ms. Mickey (Touch Angousspheap) and the entire hotel team for providing exceptional service. Their attentiveness and dedication truly made my stay memorable. I wholeheartedly commend them for delivering a 5-star experience.
Overall, my stay at Fairfield Phnom Penh by Marriott surpassed my expectations, and I highly recommend this hotel to both business and leisure travelers seeking top-notch service and comfortable...
Read moreFirst time staying at a Fairfield outside of the USA. In the past I have stayed at the Courtyard in Phnom Penh which I will talk about in it's own review. At the time I stayed at the Fairfield it seems to still be very very new. The room was practically new with a lot of modern amenities. I do not like the open air bathroom layouts, feels not well thought-out to illuminate the entire room when late night bathroom use is needed when traveling with families or sharing the room. Really hope this trend ends. Bed was comfortable and a great view of Phnom Penh. The staff were extremely friendly and kind. Totally pleasant experience. For being one of Marriott's budget brands this particular Fairfield was quite upscale. The rooftop bar and dining was very nice with a great view. The location has it's positives and negatives, there is really nothing of any attractions nearby and needed to get a taxi or tuktuk to go pretty much everywhere though I did go by foot to the rivers side a couple time which took about 40-50min walking. It is very easy access to the Airport without being at the airport which was quite nice to avoid long traffic time. Elevator situation is a little annoying having to switch between two different elevator to access the room. Overall I would stay here again. The positives for sure outweighs the negatives. The price is very reasonable and the service is at a high level for being a...
Read moreI had a bad experience at this hotel. air conditioning malfunctioned, and I got an upset stomach because of the extremely cold room temperature. The room that I stayed in didn't have any windows. So it was impossible to warm up the place. Also, the housekeeping service was bad. even though I put on the "don't disturb" switch before I left the room, I found out that the people entered the room and they did a housekeeping service and some important documents and some invoices that I put on the table were removed. the female shift manager (her name is Sreymech Chhean), who worked at that time, talked with a very arrogant tone and made me feel very uncomfortable when I reported her the situation.
So I left the hotel in two nights. I'm very grateful that these incidents happened, which caused me to leave the hotel because I found a better spacious place with breakfast included for a very good price
I am totally dissatisfied with the arrogant attitude of the manager, and even though she apologized, she made me very uncomfortable. She definitely doesn't belong to work at a hotel like this.
Bad housekeeping, malfunctioning aircon, dirty cups, no windows in the room which I stayed, not a good location, too pricey for that conditions.
Restaurant staff were very good, I...
