5-Star Review: A Perfect Island Getaway at Lanting Villas
Lanting Villas is an absolute gem of a boutique resort, offering the perfect mix of relaxation, comfort, and adventure. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found something special. The resort is small and intimate, with a beautifully designed bar and dining area that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu may be small, but every dish is prepared to perfection, using fresh, high-quality ingredients. And for coffee lovers—this is the place to be! The real, expertly brewed coffee was some of the best we’ve had on our trip.
Our room was modern, spotless, and incredibly comfortable, with an unbeatable sea view across Sok San Bay. And let’s talk about the shower—without a doubt, the best we’ve had in both Vietnam and Cambodia! It’s the little details like this that make a stay truly memorable.
Lucas, the owner, and his wife are fantastic hosts—welcoming, attentive, and always happy to help with anything you need. From arranging a quality scooter for us the moment we arrived to offering great local advice, their hospitality made our stay effortless.
We initially booked for two nights but fell in love with the place so much that we extended for four more! The location is ideal, with plenty of restaurants and tour booking options just a short walk away. The GTVC boat conveniently drops you off at Sok San Pier, just a five-minute walk from the villas.
Exploring the island by scooter was a fantastic experience. A few sections of the ride were off-road, but even with my wife as a passenger, I had no trouble—though I do have mountain biking experience, which helped. For those who enjoy snorkeling, there’s an incredible spot just 15 minutes’ walk (or 4 minutes by bike) from Lanting Villas. The visibility was an astonishing 50 feet, and the coral reef was teeming with vibrant marine life—better than any boat trip snorkeling spot we visited in both Vietnam and Cambodia!
Lanting Villas is truly a slice of paradise—peaceful, idyllic, and with breathtaking sunrise views. And if you’re looking for a golden sandy beach, it’s just a few minutes away. We highly recommend this place and can’t wait to return!
There’s nothing to dislike, but it’s important to remember that this is Cambodia—things can occasionally go wrong. However, whenever we had any minor issues, the owners were incredibly helpful, quick to respond, and always did their best to explain and...
Read moreI don’t usually write negative reviews, but this experience left me no choice. From the moment I entered the room, something felt off. It took only a few seconds to realize what it was—the overwhelming stench of sewage creeping in from the bathroom. No matter how much I tried to ignore it, it was inescapable, filling the entire space and making it impossible to feel comfortable.
But that wasn’t the only issue. The room itself was shockingly unclean—dust in the corners, stains on the bedding, and an overall sense that hygiene was not a priority here. It’s one thing to have an old or basic room, but when cleanliness and basic sanitation are ignored, it becomes a matter of respect for guests.
Staying here felt more like an endurance test than a place to rest. If cleanliness and a fresh, livable environment matter to you, I’d strongly recommend...
Read moreThe best place on the island! We stayed in a few places on the island, but this one definitely stood out in terms of quality and atmosphere. A perfectly situated hotel - next to the best beach on the island, with a beautiful view from the restaurant with delicious food, delicious coffee and board games :) The owners take great care of this facility, which is evident in the amount of work they do every day, but they also find time for interesting stories about life on the island. The rooms are well-equipped, clean and spacious. A huge plus is also the receptionist - cheerful, smiling, always willing to help. We are glad that we could spend at least a few days there, I hope that I will visit this place...
