I made a booking here through hotels(dot)com for 4 nights. The reservation was ore-paid in full and confirmed a double room with a large bed with garden views. The booking included airport transfer. |On arrival at the airport there was no transfer waiting for me. No big drama, I took a taxi to the hotel. Things got worse though, much worse. On check-in I was told the hotel no longer deals with hotel.com because they haven’t been paid. I was told I could only stay the one night as they have no vacancy for me thereafter. I was taken to my room. Instead of a double room with a large bed, it was a twin room with 2 single beds. Again, no huge drama as I was on my own for the first night. However, when I pulled back the curtains, instead of a garden view I was staring at a sheet of corrugated steel. The toiled didn’t flush, the phone on the bedside table was not connected. The electrical connection to the hot water system was open and exposed and located directly above the shower head. It looked like if you accidentally sprayed water on it one would be at risk of being electrocuted. Water and electricity = Not a good combination! |I checked the hotels(dot)com app on my phone in an attempt to contact the company to get some assistance. Via the customer service menu option on the app I’m supposed to be able to call them. The number displayed in the app is a 1800 number with a +61 in front. I tapped the button in an attempt to connect with them but received an error message instead. I had no alternative but to find an other hotel for the remaining nights. |Thank you so much hotels(dot)com and Galaxy Boutique Hotel, Siem Reap. What an absolutely fantastic beginning to a supposed relaxing holiday. I will be following you up on my...
Read moreThis hotel is hands down the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Firstly the room was less than spotless, with tired decor but then our room flooded due to poorly maintained windows . So we were moved with little apology to a room which was much worse, there were rat droppings on the floor and headboard!! The shower (picture below) was ridiculous, my partners 6"5! The toilet was dirty and there were insect cocoons all over the bathroom ceiling. We witnessed one member of staff chasing a rat and then carrying the dead rat away. Then breakfast came... we didn't have high hopes anyway but there was no juice just cordial?! Being that we'd seen rats we played it safe with the food and ordered banana pancakes... there was exactly one small pancake on each of our plates, and they were disgusting, clearly they had been cooked in whatever had been cooked before as they were salty and strange tasting. There was no other breakfast on offer, ie a bit of a buffet etc. So that was it! Unfortunately for us we had booked 2 nights so were stranded. We originally booked this hotel because it was closer to the temples, but it's not worth it as there is nothing around in terms of food etc, so we had to get a tuktuk to and from places to eat. And finally the guy on the front desk was odd, he kept 'adjusting' himself literally every 30seconds and was pushy when we wanted to book tours to the temples. Also we were the only people there for the 1st night, we didn't see another guest until we...
Read moreStay there unfortunately only for one night on my birthday solo trip to Cambodia, and I have to say that this is the place!! The location is amazing just a little far away from the hustle and bustle of the town but really close to the temples site, just what you need for a perfect rest after a day of sightseeing. The room spacious and comfortable and super clean! The staff welcomes me with a heart warming smile as soon as i step in, they are very keen to make you feel like home even for if you stay only one night and surprise surprise....they come knock at my door with an amazing birthday cake because they noticed that on the 5th was my birthday!!! I was really really happy and after that they arrange a really nice aperitive in the swimming pool area to make me feel like home! ALL IN ALL AN AMAZING PLACE TO BE!!! Thanks again for your remarkable service and all the attention that you...
