We hesitated between booking an international hotel like raffles or marriott for our stay in siem real, but with no availability at raffles and seemingly inferior rooms at marriott, we decided to give templation a try mainly for its villa with private pool, large shared pool and lush jungle vibe as well as its location away from the city centre and closer to angkor.|At checkin we were greeted by Wood and hastily, but politely enough, showed to our villa. He failed to point out the tiny basket of chocolate cookies, that we only discovered 2 days later infested with ants by this point, as well as the mosquito net around the bed, again that we discovered ourselves only on the last night, so it was a pretty poor welcome and first impression.|The room itself was OK and had a bedroom section and a separate living room section that we did not use.|The tv had no channels, strange for a 5, and only seemed to work with your own netflix.|The daily turn around service was hit and miss. First day was Ok whilst second day was better and more comprehensive.|Our welcome drinks and fruit, that we noticed staff had placed outside the villa at the entrance for clearing, remained there for a full 2 days, even more bizarre that housekeeping came twice to our room during this period.|Breakfast was OK but also hit and miss, the first day being a la carte, the following days switching to a semi buffet as the hotel was full occupancy and they admittedly could not handle a la carte. Dinner was tasty and fresh and the waiters very polite and attentive, the highlight of our stay.|Private pool in our villa was not heated hence unusable with the weather at night, and neither was the main pool.|We were unlucky enough to stay here during chinese new year so the hotel and public pool was overran by noisy and obnoxious guests with no regards for other guests. Same at dinner they were so loud it was unbearable and we complained to staff who had a word but with no effect. Equally, despite no smoking being permitted in the covered dinner area, staff were too afraid to point this out to a group of russians at dinner. All a very low class experience.|The rooms have zero noise isolation, we could hear loud kids until midnight and from 6am from our beds with all doors and windows closed.|Upon checkout, there was not a single thank you, how was your stay, just straight faces, pay and get out.|Horrible and inexperienced for a supposed 5 place. Go somewhere else please, or be prepared for a noisy, unclassy,...

A perfect sanctuary in a greenery-filled location of the town. Away from the crazy party streets of the central town and closer to the temple circuits. A perfect respite from the chaos of the over-touristy neighborhood and a great place to connect with nature.
LOCATION: Located in a nice secluded location closer to the temples than the city.
DINE + DRINK: A chilled-out Bar and Restaurant by the poolside serving local Khmer and international cuisine.
ROOM: We stayed in Junior Suite #23, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Sweet view of the garden and the pool from the balcony/terrace attached to the room; SIZE: Spacious enough for 2 adults and simple baggage; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part of putting me to sleep; BATHROOM: Romantic Stand-in shower which is semi-outdoor and lets you bathe under the starry skies and lush green trees!; TOILETRIES: Lovely Spa quality cosmetics
FACILITIES: The fitness center is nothing more than a room converted into a makeshift ‘gym’ with no weights and barely any machines! But the lovely outdoor pool more than makes up for the lame gym!
SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile and made us feel pampered and well taken care of. Special Shout out to the front desk folks and the staff at the restaurant/bar
HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free high-speed Wi-Fi that works well all over the property. SMALL Smart TV screen dishing out a wide variety of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies, and entertainment in multiple languages and also comes with Streaming apps. They also have a Xiaomi MI TV connected to the TV to...
Read moreLet’s be honest, this hotel would cost 4-5 times more in Europe or the US. Amazing value for money despite them charging double than the 40-60$ usual rate of the 4* hotels.
Room was superb. The decoration had such a good taste and the private pool was perfectly sized for 2 people. The big pool was also amazing, but we almost didn’t use it as having a private pool is way more convenient. Staff is always willing to go the extra mile. Happy hour drinks are soooo worth it. 6.5$ for 2, and they will deliver them to your pool if you want. Amazing service.
Location wise, it’s great to visit the temples at sunrise, but not convenient if you like to be at walking distance from restaurants and nightlife. Grab tuktuks are always nearby though. One night we couldn’t sleep at 5:00am and decided to see the sunrise for a second time and within 3minutes a tuktuk was outside the hotel to take us to Angkor for 3.5$.
Their breakfast format is also the best a hotel can have: unlimited a la carte.
Bear in mind: the rooms are not within the main premises, but a 1min walk away from the entrance. Hopefully, one day they can connect them somehow. The airport pick up service is super expensive if it’s not included in your rate (65$ vs the usual 30$). The jungloo room has a lot of vegetation surrounding it, so small visitors such as little frogs and wide variety of bugs are to be expected once the sun sets. It wasn’t a deal breaker, and we took it as a part of the experience, but I know a couple of people who would probably not use the pool at night 😂.
One of the best if not the best hotel I’ve ever been at. Didn’t want to leave. I will be back. Angkor is amazing, and this hotel just adds to an already...
