Our family of 5 spent a few nights here for our short trip to Siem Reap and the temples. It was the final stage of our months holiday so we were happy to sit back, be looked after by the attentive staff and went with the flow of organised tours to the temples. The free transfers to and from the airport were a bonus although we had accumulated quite a bit of luggage and it was all piled into one tuk tuk with us in another, which made for a tense but hilarious trip to the hotel on arrival watching as a bag fell off on the first turn and then keeping an eye out the rest of the 6km journey. They were happy to organise a mini van for our outbound trip. |Our driver for the remainder of our stay was great and an excellent guide for our day trip to the temples. |The place was perfect with lush surroundings, beautiful clean pool with towels provided poolside and a cold beer or cocktail. As we arrived late we had a late dinner at the hotel which was pleasant. We hopped the short distance into town each night after that as the vibe was so much fun. It was lovely to return to the peace and quiet of the hotel. |Only fault we could pick was the shower drains need a clear out as they tended to back up and overflow a little and the shower floors were super slippery they could do with a non slip treatment. |Otherwise would visit...
Read moreWe stayed here as a family group for a week.||On arrival there was an issue with our interconnecting rooms - compounded by the very limited English by the reception staff trying to work through this with us. However, they did manage to work through this and provided a separate bed to enable our son to share our room. ||The facilities are very nice - spacious room, well designed and laid out (though no door to the shower - not so good if you were sharing with friends!).||||Minor annoyances - we constantly had issues with limited English. Some staff could not understand 'can I have a pool towel' for example or other standard hotel requests and this did create problems. So do not rely on assistance from reception/concierge for any of your tourist questions. However, I should note that some staff had good English and some also spoke French. In addition, the food service is very slow - expect to wait 45 minutes for Khmer spring rolls for example.||||The best bits - the rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean and staff were certainly willing to try and be of assistance. Breakfast staff particularly were good especially Darrah. The pool is fantastic, super clean and very pleasant to spend time around, providing both shade and sun depending on your preference.||||A very pleasant stay overall if you relax and go...
Read moreWhat made me happy as guest: In general a very nice place, tastefully designed. Nice pool and garden area! Super friendly guy serving the breakfast. Breakfast was good, though limited number of choices.
What I did not like: The room was fairly dirty when taking it over. A dirty towel still in the bathroom. A dental stick and ear cleaning stick on the night stand. An empty cosmetic bottle on the ground. Dusty uncleaned table and floor on the balcony. House keeping wasn't getting better over the three days we stayed there. Mentioned situation to the manager and got the explanation that many of the cleaning personal have been on holiday... Despite the fact, that there have been still quite a good number of people taking care of the 16 rooms, I think if you pretend to be a 4 Star hotel, you should be able to find a solution for this shortfall.
Finally, left with the impression, that with a little more of work and some smile more from the staff, the stay could have been rememberable. Now I would look for another hotel should I return one day...
