My family of 4 stayed here the first week of July and we'll be back for several reasons. Dustin, Zeb and Derek and their housekeeping team will definitely make it their personal mission to ensure you have everything you need. There are so many things to do at the resort or you can do nothing, and still have a great stay. It's quiet, and there's a great view of the marina, harbour and coastline from every angle. The tides roll in and out in a mesmerizing way that makes every tide seem different and amazing. They have kayaks and boats for rent, but I highly recommend speaking to someone about chartering a twilight cruise. The hot tub is massive and overlooks an impressive collection of boats moored in the marina and everything is lit up just right so you can enjoy it all. Great restaurants are just a brief (but uphill) walk away and there's groceries and more in Pender Harbour which is a 5 minute or less drive from the resort. We took in a little sport fishing and weren't disappointed especially since we could wash our hooks within 10 minutes of the dock in the usually calm harbour. There's a ping pong table that we put to good use as well as a croquet circuit that they change up. There's so much to do there and the staff have plenty of ideas to keep you coming back. The rooms were perfect for our needs because all we needed them for were sleeping in and preparing meals in the fully equipped kitchenette or on the bbq outside. The beds were very comfortable with clean bedding. The room didn't have AC but the lack of insects and an amazing ocean breeze kept things cool in the evening with our windows open. All in all I highly recommend this rejuvenated hidden jewel. You...
Read moreI would love to give five stars on everything just because the site and the staff were so wonderful. However, there are a couple design quirks that didn't quite meet that standard. First, the staff really were wonderful, from the moment of our first inquiry through the end of our three-night stay in an executive chalet. They were helpful in every way, and provided a unique daily refill service for anything we needed. We just filled out a card and voila the items appeared! This included fresh towels, which was nice as we made regular use of our private hot tub and the steam shower. Those were fabulous features! Also excellent was the kitchen, which had all the pans, dishes, etc that we needed. The beds were super comfy, (and I'm quite picky). Not so fabulous was the privacy. The main bedroom shares a fireplace with the living room, which is a neat idea but means that anyone in the living room can see straight through the fireplace and have full view of the bed. The upstairs was a loft, which was fun but those sleeping up there were disturbed by any movement or sound from the main floor. Still, if you are cosy with your travel buddies, these are not deal breakers, and overall we loved our time at the resort. The views of the marina are just lovely and the hot tub divine. Pender Harbour and its restaurants and shops were just a few minutes' drive down the highway, and we went twice to the Mexican restaurant the resort manager recommended! Some good hiking was also nearby. I had hesitated staying so far from Sechelt but our getaway was perfect and we had enough time in and around Sechelt when driving through to and from the ferry. We...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible. Showed up for our reservation and there was no one at the desk. Waited for an hour before a "manager" showed up, reeking of alcohol, who dismissively told us our rooms weren't ready and that "it is what it is". He ignored our concerns and basically left after 10 minutes of "dealing with us".
Wasn't just us either. I count at least 4-5 other groups that were left on the hook - a paid booking without a room, each with probably worse stories than ours.
A lady finally showed up (Erica, truly bless your heart, but run very far away from this gong show) to try and fix everything that was happening, but you could already see how far south things had gone. Open reception where the only phone line was being left unmonitored for the entire day. Open guest rooms that were extremely unclean, some having been clearly left for multiple days. Erica eventually managed to get us some bedsheets and toiletries. But even after lining all the beds and throwing out all the garbage, it was still much too gross to sleep in. So we left.
It's crazy. You pay $300+ a night for a room and you get service worse than a dive motel. I'm sorry but avoid avoid avoid. We spoke to multiple people who had come by who all voiced their concern that management had gone extremely south.
Owners, if you're reading this - take control of your business before...
