Had our wedding here June 2017. We had exclusive use of the lodge for the weekend. Working with the lodge was a breeze-they listened to what we wanted and delivered 100%. They were very relaxed and the whole wedding experience was stress free. The staff were amazing, very helpful and accommodating (brought our luggage in, and laundered our sheets when our toddler puked everywhere). They had cribs set up in all of the very spacious rooms for those who needed them. For the ceremony they set up everything and took down everything at the reception. The food served (we requested fancy burgers and bbq style sides) was THE BEST FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD! We weren't a quiet group, but the building was very well insulated and even though we were dancing until 3am, our family that went to bed earlier were sleeping soundly through our shenanigans. The food, both at Corks Restaurant and the Saloon at Winston was delicious. The pizza in particular at the saloon was awesome. We cannot say enough good things about this location-accessible yet quiet. We will not hesitate to stay here again on our future trips!

Cosy, rustic place; good breakfast; amazing, serene surroundings; but we expected better quality lodgings and service for the money. A number of items could be improved upon: - Nobody at the check-in desk when we arrived - A communal coffee machine was available in the Winston Lodge, but not enough clean mugs were provided and no staff were around in the early morning from whom we could have requested more - Shower curtains were very dirty (see photos) - Pink biofilm around drain and jets in the jacuzzi tub - Showerhead was poor quality (sprayed everywhere rather than providing a concentrated jet) - Toilet sprayed water out onto the seat when flushed (make sure to lift the seat before flushing!) - Cobwebs on the light fixtures in our room - 3/4 light bulbs in the chandelier in our room were burnt out - Prominent coffee stains on the white comforter This place has the potential to be an amazing mountain retreat, but lackluster customer service and cleanliness marred an otherwise great experience.

Its a rip off, no service, no staff, dirty the circumstances at the hotel are realy bad - no room service at all - no staff a the premises - management is not available and not answering mails - request were ignored - no king bed just 2 rocky single beds - everything is dusty and dirty, spiderwebs on walls and windows - as result of missing service not enough towels for the four of us and NO toilet paper!!! all restaurants at the kicking horse resort were closed after 5 pm the first two nights and we had to go down to town for food, 20 minutes each direction Other then promised in an email to us - no cooking gear or dishes were supplied, just a lonely grill and a microwave. - this morning no water, neither knifes, cups nor glasses for breakfast

Location: 13 km from town up a paved mountain road. One restaurant in another lodge opens at 5 PM Th-Su. There is another restaurant in another nearby lodge. The nearby gondola is out of order. The ski lift it $42 per person. At the top there is an enclosed live grizzly bear.||Hotel: The parking lot is gravel with some mud. There are many weeds in the area around the hotel. One set of stairs to the front door is steep, the other set does not have bannisters. ||You need a code you should have received to open the front door. We did not get the code. The outside deck is sorely in need of sanding and painting.||There are about ten rooms on two floors, No elevator. The common area/lobby is nice with hardwood floors, fireplace, couches, and one long common breakfast table.||There is no pool or business center. There is a sauna and hot tub.||Breakfast is Continental. Well supplied.||Internet is fast at 115.99 Mbps. Nevertheles, the TV picture froze and paused during shows for short periods.||Room: We had a large king size room. The bed headboard was about 20 feet from the TV. The room needs a larger TV. The TV remote operation was a puzzle.||The mattress was good. There was no desk. The two "modern" chairs were uncomfortable and did not fit the decor. The rest of the furniture was nice with a beautiful carved armoire. ||There was a big deck with two chairs and a table. Mosquitos prevented enjoyment of the deck facing the woods.||The bathroom was a good size, but there was very little counter space. The sink was free hanging with no counter. The towels, tissues and toilet paper were high quality.||Staff: The young man on staff was personable...

Winston Lodge is in the vicinity of Golden - some 12 klm or so away from the main town. It is a nice drive to get there from the town. We arrived and the lodge was open, but no-one was at reception (around 4pm). Room key was in an envelope with instructions as to where to find our room. We went in and the air conditioning was on and some nice music playing - we thought this is going to be great!. The room was large, bed large and bathroom very spacious. Room was a little dusty, and the TV a bit too small to see well if you wanted to watch a movie from the bed. The room had a small balcony with a nice outlook to the trees but there were so many mosquitos outside we couldn’t use it. We were there for 2 nights and the only time we saw any staff was when we were checking out. The lodge is described as self catering but I could not see any facilities other than a BBQ - there was one table with only 4 chairs - we were lucky that there were very few guests so we were able to use it one night to eat our takeaway meal from town - there were no restaurants nearby. I dont know if there were any facilities available for our use as there was no-one there to explain what was available for our use. The common area looked old and dusty - if you dont want guests please just say...

Hello I was there on New Year’s Eve and I would just like to express my concern about the service and/or lack there of.

We were only asked for our food and drink order at the start, from there on no communication and then had to ask the bar when our table wanted drinks and then was scolded for not asking the waitress. After that when we asked for the bill with direction of who had what, the waitress left and the chore was put on something else who had no idea what was going on and we further had to communicate the process. Equating to a less then desirable experience.

Normally with a busy bar I would never express this concern but with a bar-/restaurant with one 2-3 table filled and the employees visible drinking/taking shots I can’t say they should expect favourable reception form thier patrons. I hope this helps and the manager can guide the new staff to a better experience. Thank you

Absolutely non of that below reply is honest or truthful. It takes a lot for me to write a 1 star review and if you look at my past ones they are 90% positive. Clearly the place was dead on a new years for a reason. I will never recommend this...
