Terrible Experience! Stained bedsheets and filthy blanket covered in hairs. Very poor customer service. ||This is a detailed account of what occurred. It is lengthy but I feel others need to be informed of the quality and poor service when considering this motel. ||I stayed at this hotel for 1 night on July 22. I informed front desk that I would be arriving after hours. I arrived at the hotel at 1:30 a.m. after attending a wedding. After a 3 hr drive and a full day of activities I was exhausted and looked forward to getting a good sleep but that was not the case. I noticed my bedsheets were stained with black and brown marks and when I lifted the flat sheet, there were tons of black hairs all over the blanket. This blanket was placed over the white mattress cover. I checked the other bed and the bedding was clean except for a small brown stain. I tried calling front desk from the phone in the room but no one was answering and instead it went to the answering machine. I then immediately walked outside with my friend to the front desk and reported it to the young woman named Sheila who informed me that there’s no housekeeping at this time - obviously. She said there were no other rooms and that the motel was fully booked. I told her the bedding was disgusting and to come see it for herself since she didn’t believe me. She didn’t offer to give me clean sheets, I had to ask her for it. She also wasn’t eager to get it for me either but then she went to the back and came out with clean sheets. At 2 a.m. I threw the dirty sheets and blanket on the floor and had to make my own bed. ||Next Morning: I insisted to speak to the hotel manager but was told that the manager was not there on weekends. I then asked to speak to the supervisor instead. Shortly after the Housekeeping Supervisor, Lori arrived at my room and told me that she had cleaned the room. I showed her the dirty sheets and filthy blanket. She told me that the black marks were from the washing machine and the brown marks were from the rust from the water. She looked at the blanket covered in black hairs and didn’t try to justify that. She said to my friend and I that the people before us were unclean and she said, “this is not the best room, you should not have been given that room”. I showed her the other bed and questioned why that bed had clean bedding but this one didn’t. She had no response. I went back to front desk and requested a refund. At this time there were people waiting in line and Sheila was there from the night before, at the front desk and said she could not give me a refund and that my card would be charged the full amount. I told her this was not right but she refused to give me a refund. I told her to have the manager call me on Monday. ||Monday, July 25: No phone call from the manager so I called that afternoon and spoke to the hotel manager named Boe. Apparently, she was made aware of the incident but didn’t call me back instead she said she was busy. Clearly my incident report was not taken seriously nor was it treated as a priority to warrant a phone call. ||After explaining the situation to her, she assured me that she would speak to the owner and get back to me later that day or on Tuesday. I waited, no call was received so I called Tuesday afternoon and spoke to the manager again only to be told she couldn’t reach the owner but then said that the owner has family visiting so she doesn’t know when the owner will return her call. I asked her when I could expect a call from her and she said next Monday. This is ridiculous that it would take a whole week for a call back. Such terrible customer service! I told her that I would call back on Friday and she said, “ hopefully I’ll have good news”.|I am very disappointed in their customer service and guest relations and do not recommend this motel. ||It is obvious that hotel management is not addressing my matter as a priority. I was informed by the hotel manager only after my stay that I was given the lowest economical room. It doesn’t matter if the room cost $200 or $100, one would expect clean sheets. This is all very stressful to say the least. It is two days since my stay and still...
Read moreWe had a nightmare situation during a move gone awry and the Newmarket Inn was our saving grace as they accept dogs. We booked the room in the afternoon and paid cash as we don't use credit cards. We arrived at about 3 am and exhausted, collapsed into bed. The room was clean but the beds were a tad high for someone of my 5''0" stature. My feet didn't reach the floor making it impossible to sit on the side of the bed and causing additional back strain I did not need. The green space for the dog was awesome but people staying in or near the pet friendly rooms, should be pet friendly people. Every time we took our German Shepherd out there was one guest who screamed. I guess she was intimidated by the breed. Oh well!
Maids do not enter the rooms to clean unless your dog is crated. That would have been helpful to know. Our room was not cleaned at all during our stay and we had to beg the maid, when we caught up to her, for fresh towels and toilet paper.
The continental breakfast was good but could include MILK which for some strange reason no one could explain, is not offered. this breakfast made it convenient to get up and running in the morning.
The refrigerator in our room wasn't cold enough, even at the maximum temperature setting, but I imagine that has to do with energy control, and I don't have an issue with that.
We stayed in Room 57 and the power wet out several times but the hotel was packed, so we understood. the WiFi was weak and you needed to log in every time you took your phone off lock. Also, with so many using it the signal was weak and it took forever to launch any app. But again, understandable with a full house.
Our room was across from the pool where parents seemed to think it was ok to allow their children to scream and run around at all hours. i guess kids will be kids, but that annoyed the dog,
Our 4 night stay was pleasant and more than satisfactory. The staff were polite, friendly and informative. Kudos for that.
If we are ever in need of a pet friendly hotel again we would not hesitate to return to the Newmarket Inn. It is close to all amenities and good value for the money if you travel with your dog. Book in advance though, as the pet rooms are usually...
Read moreWe stayed a few nights on the second floor two bedroom unit there aren't many of these and they do face the highway which isn't really that bad. The motel also has a wide diversity with different types of rooms with kitchens as well. the grounds are beautiful there are plenty of gardens flowers and a huge playing field for soccer football or frisbee they have a wonderful good-sized pool with warm lightly salted water I had a swim in the pool but the whirlpool was closed due to covid. there are also two lockable change rooms there. out of the three nights we stayed there, The Breakfast Bag what you take with you two of the mornings there was nothing in them but a muffin the front desk gave us excuses two days in a row they had said there were delivery problems give me a break as other motels hotels in the area don't seem to have any problem with breakfast. But the coffee machine in the lobby is very good. our room unit 29 the coffee maker leaks water every time and the fridge was terribly warm upon arrival even though it was up full. It takes all night into the next day to cool your beverages. the beds are comfortable and have four very nice. pillows each. a small drawback the TV Goes Up full but you can still barely hear it lying down on the beds if the air conditioner is on there is no further. adjustment for this. The rooms are quiet due to concrete fire walls on both sides. theirs only two bath towels for two people so you will have to order more and go to the lobby to get them. overall it was a nice stay and the prices were good during the early week if you booked in advance. The rooms were very neat tidy and clean . Don't be alarmed upon your Entry in the lobby. we found the front desk receptionist in the afternoon was very withdrawn had little greeting skills and refrained from any type of hotel or personal...
