Over all good visit, pleasent staff and semi decent breakfast options for those without dietary restrictions (which isn't unexpected).
However, I booked via phone for a fully accessible room (and it was confirmed) and when checking in get told it isn't a option as its already booked (when I'd booked it a week plus in advance!) Not pleased at all.
However, the room given was around a level 1 accessible room so wide enough for my chair to turn and the bed low enough for transfers (but thats where it ended for being truly wheelchair accessible).
The bathroom was horrible couldn't take a shower and cleaning up after an accident left me feeling like I should not have even booked in the first place because I couldn't safely clean myself up because the bathroom (it wasn't a wet room) was not actually fully chair accessible.
The bathroom is alright if you could get into the bleeping low tub n out again, or even have the ability to stand long enough to shower, but ya sorry not in my case, even the toilet wasn't actually helpful the bar though helpful for someone with a cane or walker or even a more ambulatory wheelchair user might find it alright, but it wasn't as safe as I was actually expecting it to be.
Having a fridge and microwave in the room was nice, since the fully accessible room we where to have didn't have either so we actually got to keep more stuff out of our cooler then we where expecting to be able to, which was nice. Meant we actually got some treats we other wise wouldn't have gotten.
The room also had an ringer on the outside of the room for ppl to anounce themselves to the occupants (if the person in the rooms deaf a light on the inside of the room would have flashed signaling someone at the door type deal, which is a helpful thing).
The breakfast options are great if you don't have dietary restrictions, so my mate found it yum, personally I would have been left to go hungry because outside of fruit (an apple or banana) there wasn't anything I actually could have safely eaten (again not unexpected, its why I packed my own breakfast options). Did ask the staff of there was a Gluten-free options and dairy/egg free options which there wasn't outside of the two offered fruits (and the juices - orange, apple n cranberry).
It would have been nice if the front desk had an accessible level so I wasn't left cramming my neck to try and look up at the person behind the desk (the plexiglass barrier though understandable did add to the problem) that made it hard to see them properly, but again not something that isn't uncommon its just a general annoyance that there isn't a more personal touch for the front desk staff to be more level with a customer.
Parking was alright, but would have been nice to have more then 1 blue spot and to actually have a blue spot that could accommodate a wheelchair van as it was if my van had a side lift there wouldn't have been any way to get into our out of the van without having my husband drive/park the van because the blue spot wasn't wide enough for a side lift to be be deployed- its fine for a non side loaded wheelchair van or for a regular vehicle which is what its aimed at unfortunately.
Thankfully for me my vans a rear loading (because most places don't accommodate side loading vans unfortunately) so it wasn't a big issue, but the fact there's only one spot was a minor issue but considering how small their actual lot is, its likely within the regulations (the parking lot is shared between its sister hotel and a sports bar).
Overall a pleasant stay and yes I would recommend it to an able-bodied person or more...
Read moreNo one ever focuses on the gym/fitness centre. So I will. I'm an amateur athlete, trying to keep my weight lifting training on schedule.
This gym had enough to get by, good enough for what I needed.
As of August, 2025 they had: full range of dumbbells - from 5lb up to 75lb a tower of 5 medicine balls in various weights a workout bench two thin mats, I'd call them yoga and Pilates -two standard vinyl "exercise mats" an exercise ball three cardio machines a Pelaton branded bike with screen a Precor elliptical machine with screen a Precor treadmill with screen. enough space to actually do floor weights, stretching, pushups, etc a mirrored wall if you want to check your form
The hotel room itself also had a smart TV that allowed access to the Peloton app. I would expect that all of these machines linked into the Peloton app too.
The fitness room is accessible 24/7. There are towels available in the room, a water dispenser with cups and an un-sexy-but-functional industrial bucket of sanitizing wipes (+ points for this). A TV in the corner was set to the sports channel, but a remote was available if I wanted to change it.
For a hotel gym in a small space, I'll give it 5/5. The handweights are enough for me to sneak in a workout while my family has some downtime.
If I needed a bigger workout, a strength gym (Apex Warrior) was just around the corner. Alternatively, there's a Goodlife down the street and a World Gym in a mall downtown.
The hotel was fine and what I expected for a Hampton Inn - clean, sufficient, enough. Beds were fine, bathroom was clean, rooms were a bit old but nothing that stood out. Breakfast buffet was clean, warm and as expected...
