Be careful on which number you call for this hotel! We simply google searched melfort canalta and hit the call button, assuming it was a direct line for the hotel. Last minute booking we needed 4 rooms for 4 family's for the fair in town. We were informed we had 4 king rooms with fold out couches for our stay. Confirmed that the rooms would comfortably sleep 2 afults and 2 children each. Fully aware that would be tight but can make due for last minute. We were able to check in one room before lunch and proceeded to the fair for the day. That evening we started to check in other rooms, And discovered there was only one room with a couch, not even a pullout. We now have 19 guests, 4 king beds and a couch that does not fold out to a bed, even after the front desk worker told us all rooms were identical. Being the hotel.was fully booked there were zero cots available for us. We asked for refunds and were simply going to head home, after 1.5 hours of negotiation the hotel would charge only the checked in room from the morning. But..........it turned out that the call link on the Google search does not go directly to the hotel but a 3rd party booking, even though it's answered as melfort canalta. So we were still to be charged for our rooms even if we decided to head home that night, there was nothing the hotel could do for us and proceeded to tell us to contact the 3rd party booking for a refund....... so we packed in the rooms, kids slept in bathtubs and on the floor. The service we received was sub par at best. Lesson learned on our part so be careful which number you call as the 3rd party agent knows nothing about the hotel and it's rooms.. the rooms were nice and clean but our overall experience...
Read moreThe worst Conalta we have stayed at and we stay at alot and never have a single issue as my husband travels for work and the company sticks to the same company. The staff are ignorant and rude, they don't have loonies to supply to their guests for laundry, they won't give you room service on extended stays unless you ask for it the day before but won't tell you that at check in you have to figure it out by finding your room unclean. They charge 20$ for pet fee daily event though you don't get room service which we absolutely don't mind paying if we're getting the service daily otherwise it's always been a one time fee as it covers the extra things needed to be changed upon checkout, bed protectors etc so to me that is scamming people for money as I guarantee they aren't doing the room as a pet checkout daily. When we checked into the hotel we asked about the pool they advertise and they specifically advertise swimming pool which turned out to be a hot tub only, and we're told there is waffles at breakfast get there next morning and she says no only on Saturdays and Sundays. The sausage patties were super super dry compared to every other location we stayed at. Not a huge deal but be honest upfront and you wouldn't have disappointed customers. The housekeeping came to do the room and so I was asked to leave the room I gone out of my way and left for 3 hours doing laundry, get back to the room and there's no carts or housekeepers in sight so figured it was done, get in the room and it's not been touched, so unfortunately now I need to leave again in hoped someone goes in and gets it done.||Will say the beds are super...
Read moreI booked this hotel not knowing much about this brand of hotel. But based on ratings, it seemed good. ||I was heading to a funeral in a nearby town and phoned the day of and let them know of my situation to see if I could check in early, and was greeted on the phone by friendly staff who said my room was ready to go. ||I arrived, and the staff checked me in quickly and efficiently. Had some friendly conversation and realized the manager and myself were actually heading to the same funeral. The staff while checking me in printed me a map right to the location I needed to go to without even having to ask. Gave me good advice on how to get there. When I arrived in the room, there was even a sympathy card from the staff.||Got back from the funeral and spent some time in the hot tub which was quite large and comfortable. The area was clean and neat and was relaxing.||Beds were super comfortable, and the room was clean. The walk in shower was super nice, a bit of hall noise around 10pm but after that it was all quiet. Had a great sleep.||Breakfast was amazing, tasted like home-cooked food, was nice they had banana loaf and Poppyseed loaf as well as your usual breads. No oatmeal, but the rest of the food made up for it missing.||I was able to charge my PHEV there using the hotel plugs, which was nice. They also knew where the Level 2 chargers were in town. Found Melfort a super friendly town and hope I can...
