Overall, my stay was very pleasurable. I travel quite a bit and always stay with Best Western in all provinces so I have the ability to compare. I travel to Ontario from Alberta quite a bit to visit with my son and have chosen this hotel to stay with him. To be honest, the last couple times I was on the fence.
They do not offer an included breakfast which is a staple for Best Western Plus. I've spoken with management about this and even Best Westerns in other areas with separately managed restaurants offer this service. The restaurant has stepped up their game. The last time I was here it was under different management. The staff were quite rude with me during that stay and the food was over priced. This has changed and I would recommend eating here now. They catered to my fussy 8 year old which is a tough chore. Lol.
This stay, I was quite happy with the pricing ($107/night) however the last time I stayed they tried to charge me $160 at 10 p.m. when I was with my son and had nowhere else to go. I almost had to cave but found a suite at Mohawk offered for $115/night. As I was leaving the parking lot, a gentlemen stopped me and told me he was going to stay with his friends at Holiday Inn and offered me his room at the rate he was being charged @ $115/night which he was about to check in to when I was in the lobby. I have stayed at some pretty snazzy Best Westerns in Alberta and have never been charged $160 a night.
The other issue I have, which is a big concern of mine, is they tried to pre auth my card @ $200 per night for my stay for incidentals. Thats $600. Well over the cost of my room for the three nights. The fact is that hotels carry insurance coverage for incidentals people. I can understand if I was drunk and walking in with a group full of friends for the night but I'm here with my son. Pretty Auth me for the cost of my room.
So other than the services issues with pricing consistency, pre authing outrageously and lack of breakfast covered with cost of room, the staff were amazing, room was great, my son had a blast as they have a pool and he could walk around in his pajamas for three days like he owned the place. I would recommend this hotel and I will...
Read moreDO NOT stay here unless it's absolutely necessary. I wrote this from the room when we were stuck here during an ice storm last night. Where to begin. Firstly we arrive to book a room and get quoted way above what we saw online. When the woman at the desk stated they can not honor the price we went back to our car and booked through 3rd party website. (No fault to the lady herself, the front desk staff was pleasant for our stay.) Then we get up to our floor, no signs which way rooms are, no signs on many doors at all. The ones that do have numbers it's literally a piece of paper taped to the door. The door handles look like they were all cut out and newER ones put in that are smaller than the hole that was cut. Mickey mouse job and quite unnerving. We get inside the room and the carpet is stained and huge lumps and ripples everywhere, I couldn't imagine someone with any type of mobility or vertigo issues walking around this room. The bedding looks dirty, yellowed, thinned and old. The pillows are literal lumps of material thrown in a pillow case (yellow). The light switch was absolutely disgusting with brown dirty fingerprints and god knows what. I had to lysol wipe all of the high touch areas, i am telling you these wipes were BLACK with filth. These are all clearly shown in photos and video. On top of all that as if it could get any worse, our room is freezing despite trying to turn the heat up and my sons asthma flared up shortly after we got into the room and I've had to give his puffer multiple times already (not typical at all). I suspect black mold from the window area. I feel like I have been ripped off of 175$. I should also note I am not typically a clean freak either but this is disgusting and infuriating considering what we paid...
Read moreGood evening. I am happy to give out a review of our experiences at the Best Western Hotel in Milton, Ontario. My wife and I were heading home to Oshawa from Guelph. The 401 was getting snow covered and slippery. We pulled off, since it was getting dangerous. We came across the Best Western. It truly looked like a beacon in the storm! We were very well received by the attendant on duty. Our room was exceptionally neat, tidy, fresh and clean! We used the indoor pool there. The water was warm! The pool starts at a shallow end of 3 ft and goes as deep as 5 ft on the other end. A truly enjoyable experience! This morning (Feb 9, 2025), we checked out and went to the onsite restaurant called Journey's End. The ambiance of the restaurant was super inviting and cozy. So many pictures and paintings on the wall. So many lovely Biblical references on the paintings. We were attended to by a woman of unmatched waitressing ability! The chef, he made us a superb delicious meal. The price was very reasonable. All in all, we are delighted to return at some point in the future.
Best Western of Milton: Your hospitality and welcome services are second too none! Thank you so much!
Journey's End: Your food, service and restaurant was a lovely and calming experience. Thank you so much.
