I guess this will be a post I could easily have avoided to write but needed to, so I did.
I went inside and politely asked for table for one. The Eastern European lady looked me up and down only to say deliveries are on the other side. For context, I am of Indian descent. When I gave her a look she corrected herself as she realized what she had just said and instead of apologizing, proceeded to tell me that she could not hear my accent properly and heard something else.
Between her and I, I was the only one without a real thick accent of any kind. I would also like to state that my English is much easier to understand than hers.
I brushed if off for a second to give benefit of the doubt, until I saw how Caucasian males and females were treated upon entering - friendly greetings and light humour.
I left a tip that she didnt deserve, since one of us immigrants have any actual sense of manners.
The food itself was bland and not upto Swiss chalet standards.
Perhaps next time employ people who will welcome everyone with the same warmth.
We don't live in the god damn 18th century anymore where blacks and whites had separate dining tables.
Really disappointing on a long day. Just needed somewhere to eat before heading out on a 4 hour ride. 30 bucks I'll...
Read moreI actually felt bad for our server yesterday, I am not sure if they were understaffed and not expecting it to be busy but she basically had a full dining room to look after by herself, our drinks took about 20 min and our garlic loaf was 30, after that our meals came out but they were missing items and she didn't come back for a bit because she was so busy. We eventually got the missing items and continued our meals but it took another 25 to have the table cleared and get the bill.. there was no host/hostess at the front the manager delivered the garlic bread and then was never seen again, tables weren't being cleared and this one server was running around doing everything. We had nowhere else to be so it wasn't a big deal but it's like one hand doesn't talk to the other here, the manager should have been more helpful and there should be someone looking after the door, seating and clearing tables. The food itself wasn't that great but it seemed like an off night altogether, hopefully it isn't always that chaotic and they have more than one server on a Friday. To be clear this review is not a reflection of the server she did her best...
Read moreUpdate: I want to give credit where it’s due. After my last disappointing experience, Swiss Chalet invited us back, and I’m so glad we gave it another try. The difference was like night and day. Service was excellent—our server was attentive, and there was clear teamwork across the staff. The manager personally checked in to make sure we were taken care of, which I really appreciated. The food came out hot, fresh, and just the way it should be. It felt like the Swiss Chalet I remember enjoying, and I’m happy to say they truly turned things around this time.
This place has really changed. We waited 10 min to be seated, waited 10 min for our server, waited 15 min for 3 drinks and waited 20 min for food. We were a table of 3. That is 55 min of my evening I won't get back. The waitress obviously had a rush because we were surrounded by 5 dirty tables. The kids pizza, I don't even know how they can pass that off as food for a child. Our fries were totally cold. Where is the team work? Can no one help clean tables or bring food out to tables. I'm so disappointed. This place used to be good not...
