We are at the Woodbourne Inn as I write this and don’t want to leave tomorrow! My husband and I are celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary and couldn’t have chosen a more perfect location. From the moment we arrived everything was superb. Karen, the owner greeted us and gave us a tour of the inn, local highlights (including wine tasting passes) and left us to enjoy this beautiful space. Our room was decorated with obvious attention to detail (high end white linens pressed to perfection, elegant furnishings and draperies, cozy fireplace and luxurious bath - all completely spotless). We slept soundly on the Westin Heavenly Bed (I asked because it was so comfortable). Although it was 92 degrees the day we arrived our room was cool and the temperature in the Inn was always comfortable. Given the age of the Inn this was a pleasant surprise. Laura, the manager, brought our pre-breakfast tray of a generous mug of delicious coffee, juice and muffins at our chosen time and we enjoyed that as we prepared for our day. An hour later we had the most delicious breakfast of fruit and croissants followed by eggs, bacon, potatoes and a slice of French toast. Everything was fabulous and we left to explore the area knowing we were set until dinner. (Laura even bagged the croissants so we could nibble later as we were out wine tasting). Even though a previous reviewer stated they were unhappy about the distance from town we felt the opposite. We were happy to escape the crowds and traffic after a day of sightseeing and return to the Woodbourne Inn. We sat in the back yard and enjoyed the beautiful grounds as we sipped glass of wine. (The guest pantry is stocked with wine glasses and other necessities in addition to a refrigerator for the guests to store anything they wish). There's a lovely library as well as a parlor (with piano) to enjoy the company of other guests if you’re inclined. Stay here. You won’t be disappointed. We have very high expectations and The Woodbourne Inn exceeded...
Read moreMy daughter booked a trip at The Woodbourne Inn for Mother’s Day and I can confidently say, after staying at many nice inns, that this is the most lovely one we have stayed at.
We are both vegan and received lovely pre-breakfast trays each morning with yogurt parfaits, tea, and juice. The breakfasts were delicious and varied from day to day. Their chefs are quite talented. They made use of seasonal ingredients and we would love to return during other times of the year to try their creations! We wish they would add an option for lunch and dinner as well as it rivaled the other meals we had on our holiday!
Both the common areas and guest rooms are very clean and well kept. It is a gorgeous historic home but does not feel outdated in the slightest. The interior is designed with very tasteful furnishings and decorations. The parlour and library are beautiful and cozy.
The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Special thanks to Yvonne (and everyone!) for making our stay such a pleasant and relaxing experience.
Although there is very little to improve on, there are a few details which would make the inn even better in my opinion. In the future, it would be wonderful if their beautiful historic piano was playable, although I understand restorations are very expensive! Hopefully one day though:). Also, when booking the room, my daughter saw an option for a cake to be baked as an in room surprise. Unfortunately they did not have a vegan recipe but it would be very nice if they did in the future. They are countless delicious vegan cake recipes and it would have been the icing on top.
Overall, I could not recommend this inn enough. I will especially be recommending to other vegans because of how spectacular the food is.
Thank you for an...
Read moreMy husband and I booked an extended weekend trip at Niagra on the Lake, only have visited once a few years ago for a day. We booked Woodbourne Inn because we wanted to stay somewhere charming and conveniently located. We were graciously welcomed by our host, who went over and beyond to accommodate us and make our stay memorable. The Inn is everything we wanted - charming, quaint, and easily accessible. We spent a few of our nights around the fire pit under the strung lights and big trees. We explored the library and my husband played the piano in the living room. Every morning, we were awoken to coffee, muffins, and orange juice at our door. An hour later we were invited to a delicious breakfast downstairs. Each day we had a fruit bowl, yummy croissants and pastries, quiches, scrambles - and to top it off on our last morning - waffle/fruit/whipped cream sliders! We were in heaven. We also had the whole house to ourselves for 2 of the nights. The Inn is so inviting and has such character in each of the rooms. The first night, we couldn't figure out how to get back in our room, as the door was locked. The hosts quickly came over and helped us - all we had to do was turn the knob to the right! I guess we just needed their magic touch. They were so friendly, so accommodating, and ensured we had the best experience. The wineries, historic town, and Niagra Falls were all so easily accessible from the Inn. We cannot say enough about this beautiful Bed and Breakfast. Thank you so much to our lovely hosts for making this trip unforgettable. We had so many fun experiences during our stay, and Woodbourne Inn was by far are most favorite choice we made....
