Mar2023: I had high hopes for this tiny restaurant based on the reviews, especially the French Onion Soup, which had raves online. My wife and I shared a light meal: French Onion Soup, Calimari, and Roasted Veggie Salad. The Veggie Salad was the standout, a 9/10; tasty and a good sized portion. We'd order this again in a heartbeat. The grilled Calimari was very tasty, but the value wasn't there. For $17 I expected twice the quantity, and unfortunately we wouldn't order it again. The raved-about French Onion Soup was the standout failure; a 3/10 would be generous. It's not my job to figure what went wrong in the kitchen, but I suspect the pot of broth wasn't stirred before being ladled into the bowl. The finished product looked great, but the soup was 75% oil, had very few onions, and tasted awful. We sent it back after a couple of spoonfuls, and it was appropriately taken off the bill. Sadly, we won't be running back to The Old Firehall any time soon. Our first impressions obviously stung.

This little restaurant is about 5-10 miles from Niagara Falls, and is located right next to a winery. The interior of the restaurant is cozy, and it is small. It has a nice size bar with a section for dining. The lady who helped me with my order is very friendly and so was the chef. I had my little dogs in the car, and I ordered carryout. She offered that I could eat at the bar, but I prefer to eat in the car with my pups. I ordered the Apollonia pasta, and it was delicious. The restroom was very clean. When I was done with my food and because I was crossing the border into the US a couple of hours later, I asked if they could dispose the trash for me, and they were very friendly and understanding. The prices are reasonable, but might be considered high for some. I will definitely come back the next time I'm in the area, and try something else.

I came here for lunch with my family. The atmosphere was pretty great, its nice and classic style. Our server was helpful and friendly. We first got the escargot, I loved it. It was nice and buttery and tasted amazing when combined with their toast. Though, the edge of the bread was a bit hard. Next we got the steak with fries. The caramelized onions on the steak were so flavourful and amazing. The fries were average, a bit plain and the steak was well cooked. However, for the price, the steak was so small. Pasta that we got was really flavourless and plain. We had to add a lot of salt and pepper. If it had more flavour, it would’ve been great. Lastly, we got the bruschetta feta which was ok. Overall, a good restaurant to go to.

I dont normally write restaurant reviews but this was an experience I'm not going to forget until i tell my story.

Positives. Cozy little restaurant with every little themed nicnac you can think of lining the mirrored walls. Hanging empty wine bottles, and other firemen related themes, jerseys, and old world culture items. Greek? Ill say greek.

The service was great. The waitress we had was on the ball for everything. If not a little too much at times. Like a vulture circling the table to refill your drinks. Without warning there would be an arm over your shoulder grabbing your glass.

Cons was definitely in the food. I ordered a balsamic chicken sandwich with mozzarella. The chicken was dry to a crisp and the balsamic gave it an odd taste. Too little cheese and baby greens. The bread was burnt on top of that. The fries came cold and the ketchup on the table was way past its due date and nearly black. I scraped off the blob i put down in order to get new ketchup. I spent the meal praying i didn't get botchilism from the cross contamination.

My wife got a small steak. It was very small, lunch size, but well cooked. She left hungry but you get what you pay for.

The rest of my family mostly got a cream based pasta. There was a very literal fight over the salt and pepper grinder because of how bland and unseasoned it was. Everyone's pasta needed touching up.

I hope this was just an off day. Dont think ill be back to find out if it was. At least grandma was happy and sometimes thats all...

Local mom/pop shop in the NOTL region offering mediterranean casual dining

Ambiance: Looks like what you think it looks like it’s got a vintage look to it with the vintage feel.

Service: We came in right when they opened so we had VIP service from the get-go, there is a nice lady that works here that served us and was very polite.

Food: Saganaki - Kefalotiri Cheese, pan fried, brandy flambé Can’t go wrong with fried cheese and bread. (5/5)

Greek Hero Wrap Marinated chicken breast. lettuce, tomato, tzatziki, feta, whole wheat tortilla, fries or salad

I got this wrap with the greek salad, I love feta and olives so it was perfect for me.

The wrap portion is deceivingly stuffed with marinated chicken made fresh, it is dense and heavy, and delicious. Super healthy too.

The salad is what you expect of a greek salad. Olives, onion, feta cheese, (5/5) The greek salad was an extra $1.99 but well worth it in my opinion if you love olives and feta.

Chicken Mushroom Melt Marinated seasoned chicken breast, mushrooms, balsamic vinegar, mozzarella cheese, baby greens, wasabi dijon aioli, toasted bun, fries or salad

We ordered this with the fries, massive portion again (5/5)

the pricing is $18-$25 for the lunch menu and we had a coffee to drink.

Parking: cozy parking lot, i can see it getting busy though and not being enough parking spaces

Overall Great Experience, good food and good service. Nicem om...

UPDATE: the next day I called the restaurant. The owner called me back. Apologised profusely and didn't make excuses. And refunded the total cost of the meal. A poor experience at dinner -- but well handled by the owner after the fact.

Sunday night @ 730. only one other table in the restaurant. The server took our order (stuffed mushrooms and French onion soup for appetisers, 2 plates of souvlaki for mains). Told the mushrooms were replaced by crab cakes because "too many customers, more than 50%, complained about the mushrooms". Cakes were ok. soup decent.

20 minutes after app plates were taken away, server got up from her own meal at the bar to ask if we "had room for dessert". Completely forgot to even place our souvlaki order. Then told us the souvlaki order was coming - "the chef is working on it". We reminded her there were two and by this point -- considering the chef was just starting on it now -- we have to leave so will take them to go. 5 mins later she brought empty plates and cutlery?? We clarified -- it's taken so long we have to leave.

Discovered she only placed one order to go but could add a second. We said no, we need to leave. Just the one please. 15 mins later she showed up with a bag and the bill. Full price. More than an hour after we first sat down. Never apologised. Never did anything to fix the situation. Never even bothered to refill a drink. We will not...
