I was warned when checking in that there were a few baseball teams staying here. That should have been my hint to find another place. The grounds were overrun by unsupervised children. My family was unable to use the pool and area or the nice outdoor grounds. I understand this isn't entirely on the hotel, where were the parents? I can answer that question also, the parents were all outside trashed. There were kids wandering up and down the halls past midnight making lots of noise. I tell my son, it's okay, we will get up and go for a swim in the pool in the morning. Unfortunately the pool was closed for maintenance and cleaning (not sure what those kids did to that place). I also have some concerns about this generator running outside my room on a Sunday morning, glad I didn't get the sleepy Sunday rate. I received my room statement by email and notice a fee that wasn't there when I booked. An MSF fee, which by the looks of it is the credit card merchant fee. Never been charged this anywhere yet, let alone a hotel where you can only pay by credit card. The man at front desk did seem nice and friendly, the restaurant and bar and staff all seemed friendly. The grounds and pool area with hot tub and sauna all seemed nice even though we didn't get use use them. The rooms seemed clean and in good working order. Not sure if I would stay here again.

One of the biggest ripoffs. For $400 a night you get: 1. Mold in the shower 2. Tailgate parties in the parking lot after midnight. 3. Screaming kids running up and down the halls. 4. Rattling noisy pipes, fans from other units. 5. 2 conditioners, no shampoo for 3 people 6. No coffee or tea in the room - get it yourself. Staff will make you to go to front desk. 7. Broken equipment in the gym. 8. Door to bathroom on uneven hinges 9. Rattling air conditioning 10. Fan not working in bathroom 11. Hot water shortage after 1 shower 12. Pillows stuffed with foam cubes that are cheap Probably would find more if stayed longer 13. No breakfast included! $10/person 14. Sink plug stuck when we arrived. Had to unplug it myself from underneath. It's broken and the missing piece is nowhere to be found. Stayed here as it was the last option during peak time. Won't be back.

We booked here, because of location and reasonable cost. The staff and manager went out of their way to help us feel comfortable and less stress, due to an issue with the booking. All was resolved. Only 15 minutes to our concert at Casino Rama. The restaurant, excellent food and service, from our delicious supper to a super breakfast buffet. Again thanks to a very caring staff and management. Will absolutely stay again.

I had a terrible experience at this location. You guys will laugh when I tell you the story. They didn't call back to apologize or fix the situation even. Imagine being on a road trip and driving from North York towards Hunstville. You are super exhausted and you make you way to this hotel. You are also with your girlfriend and shes tired as well. I go inside, with no booking, there is this blonde yonge guy with glasses, eyes bloodshot red, talking slow. I go in and i ask if they have rooms available. He says he has a room for 350+250 deposit. I ask him what kind of other rooms they have. And listen up here, Its from this moment, this guy starts being an ahole. He smiles and stares at me, my girlfriend is sitting on the couches in front of the reception watching me. He says "I cant tell you what kind of rooms we have available". I've been to so many hotels in my life. This is a weird response. I notice him saying sorry and looking up to the corner of the room diagonally. A part of me deeply gets upset, I tell him im going to go check their website and the information must be there. I go back into my car and go on their official werbsite, not only does it show the rooms they have available, but they were priced around $233. I book a room through their official websites's automated form. I go tell all the information of the rooms that he couldn't tell me to him and i show him my booking confirmation number. The guy stares at me and then suddenly smiles and looks up, and he says im sorry, it says check-in at 3pm, I cant check you in earlier. Keep in mind this around 2 am. Ive been driving for hours. I pause. Stare at him, and it doesn't make sense. Best Western hotel is a notable hotel and they care for the experience of their customers at their resort. So i look at him, and I tell him, I am contacting customer support, and I do. I got on the phone with someone named Brandy, I tell her, this doesnt make sense, Ive already paid you guys, the booking confirmation number, and this guy is just letting me check-in earlier, when they have rooms available, they have to either give me back my money right now or let me check in earlier. She just listened to me and shes said let me call them. She then called on her own from Best Western Customer support the maripossa front desk. As I waited, this guy tells Brandy he has to check with management in the morning and he cant contact them now and he cant cancel until management comes in the morning. Brandy calls me back and tells me, that she will look into this, and i just stare at this guy. And i tell my girlfriend to come and lets leave. We go sit in the care. And I feel disgusted. I couldnt even tell if the way he behaved towards was because of something else or not.

In my mind, Im thinking, how stupid was this guy. I had already paid for the room, i wanted to check in. He rejected, rather helping the customer. I felt sorry for the hotel management, putting people like this work for them. And for a while after this incident, i didn't want to write this response. Until today, where i completely realized that person was being purely toxic. All hotels have higher administration that can help them out in those situations. I even contatced Best Western support. Is this how Best Western treats their customers really. Brandy from customer support was the only person who cared to solve the problem of the customer. After this experience, im subconsciously staying away from Best Westerns. Because honestly, there was no follow up. Its like they dont care, if the customer has bad experience.

So to the management of Maripossa. You should know better and no let untrained, intoxicated, terrible at problem-solving people to work at the reception. And to the Best Western company: In this modern era, I expected better from you guys.

Im honestly writing this because its important for others to know what happened and to not sacrifice their dignity in front of their loved ones when they go to this hotel. It has the name Best Western but it acted...

Ok. I'm not seriously that fussy.. nor clumsy, but if you are looking for an insurance claim, this is the place to go!! I've never had so many safety issues in one place.

My husband and I decided to take a couple days vacation and support local businesses. We chose this hotel due to its proximity to dining and the downtown area that had a pool and hot tub. There is no view, just parking lots. And it is winter in Canada. However, there is some VERY slippery tile at the front entrance doors and and I nearly wiped out walking in. Thankfully, I grabbed the door handle in time, or I'd have ended up on my butt.

We requested an accessible room on the main floor but was told there was nothing available due to a hockey tournament, so we were put on the 2nd floor. There was an elevator, but it is realllllly slow. There are tiled stairs to the side door, where they've obviously had the same issues as the main entrance door, as the slippery tile has been removed from that area.

Rooms are decently clean. Beds were ok, a little hard for us. They did have a nice assortment of different pillows on the bed, which I appreciated. No extra blankets in the room. There was a mini fridge and coffee maker, but there wasn't a single bottle of water in the room.. we had to buy them at the desk for $3. The tiny bi-fold closet door was almost impossible to open, and not worth the struggle once I finally did get it open to bother putting anything in it.

The bathroom is so tiny you could wash your feet and brush your teeth while using the toilet without taking a step in any direction and our tap in the tub dripped all night. I stumbled on the uneven floor to the bathroom every single time I had to go in there (I assume they refloored and didn't bother trying to match floor heights?!?)

The pool and hot tub were clean, but omg! A danger zone for sure! I tripped on not one, but two of the sharp raised filters in the floor of the hot tub, which are impossible to see with the jets on. Ouch!! Then we went in the pool.. and one of the filters in there was out of the floor (it looked like it was missing the screws and someone had tried some silicone around it, but it hadn't stayed put) and I almost broke my ankle in the deep hole! My husband thought it a good idea to make them aware, so brought the filter piece to the desk and they did close the pool. They thanked him and gave us a complimentary coupon for the continental breakfast (not included with room cost).

Breakfast was ok, but that poor lady was on her own working and we were lined up 10 deep.. waiting for ages. There's a sign that said to wait to be seated, but when we got there, no employee was around. A bunch of patrons were just standing there.. wondering what to do. They had run out of quite a few things, and she was running back and forth to the kitchen to restock while trying to cook omelettes, but some things she said they had just plain run out of. The omelette she made was tasty, and we appreciated that she was trying her best.. but we were thankful we weren't paying for our meals.

This entire hotel could use some major improvements, especially for the high end price we were charged.. or at the very least, they have some safety concerns that need addressing!

Honestly, if I had to choose to stay here again or not, I would choose elsewhere, especially for the price. We spent the previous night nearby and it cost considerably less ($100+ less), was twice the room, safe and had all the free water we...

I have a very mixed review of this hotel. My husband and I recently stayed there and hosted our wedding there. While the hotel itself was nice & the cleaning staff and staff at the front desk were always polite and friendly with everything the wedding portion was disappointing to say the least.

As far as rooms are concerned nice room for the amount you pay, pool is not too deep only about 3 feet however it's heated and the hot tub and sauna were lovely. Again all staff were super polite and the vacation portion of our trip was a good experience. Breakfast buffet was okay but unsure if it's worth 15$/day per person.

Now comes the wedding portion. I would not recommend this venue at all for hosting a wedding or celebration.

There was so much miss communication from their end. They never told us or the guests soda was part of the buffet so our guests who couldn't afford $9.00+ for drinks stuck to only water.

The kitchen staff left early because they said everyone else left however half our of guests were outside during a smoke break and the other half changing into their costumes (wedding held on Halloween) and then they served the wedding cake and late night snack (poutine bar) while neither my husband or I were in the room.

The wedding cake was an ice cream cake so it had already started to melt by the time my husband and I got back. We were only gone about 15 min to change into our costumes aswell and I had made it clear that's where we were going.

The late night snack option really isnt worth it. We got the deluxe poutine bar. We were not told it would be pre portioned (even though it was a serve yourself bar?) and neither were our guests so there ended up not being enough for everyone.

Since there wasn't enough for everyone and it was gone before I could even get any I can't personally speak on the quality of the fries. However our guests who did get some said the fries were hard and not worth the added cost.

Despite that we were still charged $15.00/person even for our celiac and vegan guests who couldn't have the late night snack at all.

Lastly during our ceremony and at the start of dinner there wasn't enough chairs for our guests even though the hotel was given the final guest count ahead of time.

If we could redo our wedding it wouldn't be at this venue. Unsure if we will return even for vacation based on...
