The staff here are great. Friendly service and a great breakfast is included in the price. The rooms are nice and they are clean. Of note is that this is a 3 star hotel in terms of building layout, age of the building and furniture, but the amenities are 4 star and so is the lobby and restaurant. I do not recommend staying here in the summer because the halls are not air conditioned and have absolutely no air circulation. When we stayed it was around 23°c outside but the hallways were stiffling and humid by the time you got to our room we were sweating.
Also of note, the hotel does not have an elevator but the building layout is a two storey horse shoe with main entrance at one end of the horse shoe. If your room is at the opposite end of horseshoe there is no access to the lobby without going ALL the way around the horseshoe which is close to a 250 meter walk to the lobby and pool. I have a knee injury and the long walk to the lobby and back in those stiffling halls plus a flight of stairs on a sprained knee was painful and disappointing.
On a good note, the windows in the room open and you can let in fresh air, also the windows are floor to ceiling and you feel like you're sitting outside. They're fantastic. The room was enormous (King size with sofa) and well priced. Our room looked onto a beautiful courtyard as half the rooms do. And you can park your car nearer to your room than the main lobby. There is a washer and dryer available which is great for travelers.
We attended a wedding and the banquet hall and chapel area were beautiful. The area used as a chapel has a large stone fire place and dark wood beams on the ceiling with windows looking out into the courtyard. It was a great choice for a wedding. Further, the banquet hall is far away from the rooms so the party can rage on and you wont hear a peep from your room.
I would definitely stay again as long as it wasn't in the summer or when hot weather is expected and i recommend reserving this location...
Read moreBooked a room at Ramada months in advance for my wedding night. Upon arrival at 3am after the our reception we were told by the very unprofessional service desk employee (who also had some bad personal hygiene) that our room was no longer available and he had given it away to another customer. When we booked the room we were told that because it was out wedding night they would have a complimentary bottle of champagne in the room among other things. I guess these notes were completely ignored, or maybe these new customers ended up with these items. I only mention that because when booking the room the lady on the phone had made note of these things which aparantly the nighttime "manager" decided to ignore.
This is only the start of the stay from hell. Eventually this nighttime manager "pulled some strings" and got us a room. The room was in good order and looked nice. We later would find out why the room was so clean. Turns out that the maintenance staff likes to come into your room at 8:30 am to start cleaning the room. We woke up and the person left but if we hadn't woken up they could have walked off with all our stuff. Later that morning when I was showering and my wife was doing her hair the staff attempted to enter the room once again but we had locked the door with the bar this time.
The next day we spoke to some other guests that had attended our wedding who also stayed in the hotel and they had informed us that maintenance also decided to visit their room early in the morning and had entered when their do not disturb sign was posted.
When we checked out and complained the employee at the desk was shocked to hear about this and wrote an email to his superior. We also are drafting a complaint to the regional manager of that hotel.
TLDR: DO NOT stay at this hotel. Your reservations aren't safe and neither is your privacy or belongings. Staff just enters your room at their convenience to do whatever...
Read moreWhile the hotel has clean rooms and a nice enough pool we had a few major issues. First, we were in our room one morning, I was in the bathroom and my wife and daughter were still in bed, and there was a knock on the door. Before I could get to the door (i.e. 2 seconds), a maintenance guy had already let himself into the room. My wife screamed and he immediately backed out into the hallway. What makes this even more alarming is that we had our "Do Not Disturb" sign displayed on the outside of our door. He knocked again and when I answered he gave me a story that he was told that a light was out in our bathroom; of course, our lights were fine. I reported this to a helpful woman at the front desk and she said that she would talk to him, that there was no such issue reported, and that he shouldn't even have knocked on our door since we had the "Do Not Disturb" sign displayed. Ok. Chalk it up to a mistake. And shame on us for not barring the door that morning. Unfortunately, the next day our relatives reported the same issue in their room! AND we observed the same Ramada maintenance guy letting himself into another room in the same manner; a quick knock and he's in two seconds later. Needless to say we made sure that we never left any valuables in our room when we weren't there. We also had an issue with the night clerk, Philipe (glasses, unkempt beard) who seemed to have a major chip on his shoulder with family visiting with each other in the lobby at 10:30-11:00 pm. He told us we were being too loud (we were chatting at what I would call 'restaurant' levels) and that we shouldn't have our feet on the coffee table. Really over-the-top reactions. Comically, as we were calling it a night the lobby started to fill with other guests checking in and it got MUCH louder. My best guess is that he was upset that we were sitting on his 'bed' (the sofa). Also, they have Wi-Fi, but it's useless. We definitely...
