Mixed feelings. The place itself is great. Cottage was well appointed. Beds were comfortable. When you sit on the balcony you can hear the highway, even though we chose one of the cottages furthest from the highway. Lowest quality paper towel, toilet paper and hand soap there is. Need to drive to the beach as it's a bit too far to walk but the beach is amazing. Mini golf, arcade and pool on the premises is really nice. Hottub was broken when we were there, the entire week. Biggest issue of all, only 30% of the cottages have air conditioning. Ours did not and we were not informed of that. The heat in our cottage was unbearable every night. The last night was 31.5C in the cottage. For how much you pay to stay here, every cottage should have air conditioning. This overshadowed every other good thing about this place. If you are staying here in the summer, make sure you get a cottage with air conditioning. Good place in the winter, but, who goes to the beach in the winter?

Oceanside Village Resort is a fine place to stay for anyone travelling through the area and seeking somewhere to stay for a while... The staff are super friendly and welcoming and the facilities are excellent. Easy parking on site and the accommodation and rooms are superb, well equipped and with good wifi. The location is also great for getting around Vancouver Island and is close to Nanaimo and a whole range of wider places of interest. Highly recommend stopping here to any traveller.

We had a group of 5 and the unit we stayed in, a three bedroom unit was excellent! Close to Rathtrevor Park and it's magnificent trails and beach. Close to town, but not in town. Close to the highway. We have stayed at a number of different units in this complex and have been satisfied every time. They're quiet, they're close, they're far away, they're accessable and a great place to explore from. Highly recommend.

Service was brutal. We had multiple issues with our cabin (faulty wiring in oven, dryer than never stopped, multiple dead light bulbs, toilet paper holder that was broken, drawer knobs broken, and Wi-Fi that only 2 people could use.) I brought these issues to the attention of the office staff. After 5 days, and multiple visits to the front office including speaking with Kathy the manager, and Rob Hill, the owner, Wi-Fi was finally enabled for each person staying in the condo. Since when does ‘Wi-Fi included’ mean only two devices? Especially since the cabins can sleep up to 8 people? They never fixed the oven, dryer, light bulbs, toilet paper holder, or drawer knobs during our two week stay. The cabins themselves were cute, although the name of the resort is misleading, as they have no access to the ocean; you need to drive to the provincial park to get to the beach. Given that it was more expensive than Tanglewood, Madronna, and Beach Acres (which all have their own direct ocean access) and the service was poor, I would not stay there again or recommend it to...

We really enjoyed our stay there. The staff were so welcoming, helpful, and gracious. We had an issue with one lamp and the barbecue and they were resolved the same day. The kitchen (Cypress Cottage 203) was a pleasant surprise as there was actually ample counter space. There was not immediate access to the beach but it was close. We knew ahead of time from our research that only two devices could be connected to WiFi at the same time and we managed fine with that despite there being four adults and two small children in our cottage. My husband forgot his charger for his electric shaver and my son forgot his camera battery charger. We received two phone calls about those and they had a way to send them back to us quite economically. I feel they truly went above and beyond the call of duty. I would definitely recommend this place but would also recommend taking some extra dishwasher detergent as there were only three single use packages in our unit. I also used up all of the other dish washing soap that was provided but we did cook many of our meals in...

Our recent stay at Oceanside Village Resort was one of the most amazing ever. I was initially trying to find a hotel or motel room in Parksville that would accommodate us and our 3 kids. While there were options, most of them were pretty pricey for what was offered. Then I stumbled across Oceanside...

Seeing how nice the pictures looked, I was skeptical that it would be in our budget but, boy, was I wrong! The Cedarview Cottage we rented for 2 nights was incredible, with a full kitchen, sleeping for 6, and washer/dryer, private patio with BBQ, and a parking space right out front. And all for about the same price I would have paid for a LOT less at a hotel.

The entire property was equally pleasing. Very well-taken care of and clean. The pool was awesome.

The staff at Oceanside are among the friendliest I've encountered at any of my stays anywhere. They will definitely do everything in their power to make you feel at home.

There isn't a doubt that we will be returning to Oceanside as soon as...
