Empire Motel — Hotel in Penticton

If I could give it zero stars I would. Do not stay here!! Owner scams people. She admitted to charging me for nights I wasn't staying and when I checked out early she offered no refund. For context, I was a long term rental as I was in the area for school. This isn't the first time I've rented as a long stay, my first time here. NEVER again. The other places refunded me when school schedules changed allowing me to go home early. I should have stayed at Travellers. That owner is amazing 😍. Besides charging me for nights I didn't stay there (booked me in for extra days that I didn't ask for). If you have a long stay, DO NOT stay here. I was given "a bigger suite" which I didn't ask for, and when I got to my room there was a bedroom and also a bed in the living room. After I've checked in and paid a crazy deposit she told me I can only sleep on the bed in the living room and not in the bedroom????? I paid $1300 to not be able to use a bedroom. It was never dark in the room since the balcony lights are on at night and can't be controlled by the room, you can hear traffic all day and night, the fridge motor woke me up every night and the toilet ran very loudly for 10 minutes after flushing. Knowing I was there for 25 days, she put me right at the top of the stairs. Everytime someone walked up the stairs the walls would shake. Also, she placed me right above another lady who was a long term rental, so I got to hear her bang around all night. There is a plaque on the wall that says you can't have fruit in the room?? I can't eat fruit unless I'm in my car? Stupidity at its best. I will never go back. If you're looking for a motel for 1 or 30 nights, go to Travellers. This place is such a scam. And I am prepared to be insulted by the owner. People who said she was sweet, clearly haven't read her replies to the low ratings where she insults the person leaving the review. I regret booking here.

Edit in response to motel. Your reply is dishonest. I was never staying for 30 days, so you shouldn't have offered me a price for a duration I wasn't staying. If you told me that, I would have stayed at the Travelers, because that owner works with people and offers weekly rates. I can guarantee you the people I know and family will never stay at your hotel. Ever. You knew the toilet ran, you knocked on my door and told me the cleaning lady told you. You said it would be fixed and it wasn't. It is loud, you can hear and loud cars constantly, the lady downstairs does bang around, it wasn't dark at all, and the sign below the dish message says to not store fruit in the room, which I have a picture of if you need proof. First and foremost, I must commend the incredible service we received at the Empire Motel. Estelle, in particular, went above and beyond to cater to our family of 15. Her outstanding attention to detail ensured that every member of our family felt welcomed and valued. It's rare to encounter such personalized care, and Estelle truly made our stay unforgettable.

One of the highlights of our stay was the range of amenities available at the Empire Motel. The refreshing pool provided a perfect retreat on hot summer days, allowing us to cool off and the gazebos provided necessary shade from the sun in the day and a peaceful place to sit in the evening or for morning coffee. The air conditioning in our rooms was a blessing, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay for everyone. Fridges in each of our rooms enabled us to store groceries and cook on the well maintained bbq’s around the pool. These amenities played a significant role in enhancing our overall experience.

For those who love swimming and water activities, the Empire Motel couldn't be more ideally located. The proximity to Skaha Lake is a dream come true for water enthusiasts. My kids and grands immersed themselves in the clear waters at the beach. The convenience of having such a stunning lake just moments away added an extra touch of magic to our time at the motel.

Now, let me highlight some specific aspects of the Empire Motel that truly stood out. The cleanliness of the rooms surpassed our expectations, proving the motel's commitment to maintaining a pristine environment. The friendly and attentive staff members were always ready to assist and ensure our needs were met promptly. The well-maintained grounds added to the motel's charm, creating a delightful ambiance for our stay.

It is a motel, and the rooms are simple, but it is good value and a genuinely lol very environment. I highly encourage you to give it a try. The Empire is a much better choice than many of the motels...

This place is incredibly relaxing and joyful, offering everything you need for a perfect stay. Just a few minutes' walk to Skaha Lake Beach, the room comes with a full kitchen and is super clean and well-maintained. Parking is conveniently located right in front of the door. The cozy courtyard, surrounded by flowers, adds to the charm—especially in the evening when you can sit in the gazebo, enjoying drinks and conversation. It's beautiful and peaceful. The best part of the experience is the people. Estelle and her staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. I was impressed by how they clean the pool every night and carefully wash the BBQ tools each morning before guests use them. I even visited their laundry room and saw how professional and attentive the staff are. Estelle truly cares about her guests, responding to questions and needs with patience and responsibility. Her hard work is clearly appreciated, as evidenced by the flowers and cards from previous guests displayed on her office counter.
