NO ELEVATOR, Accessibility issue, I notified them in advance my husband was a 100% disabled veteran and they didn't mention that they had no elevator. It was a hardship to get to our room with all our luggage. They helped when we arrived, but starred at me and shook their head when I asked for assitance when we left. They didn't even speak. Russell was so kind when we arrived and assisted us with our luggage and said they would when we left. We had 2 large rooms and lots of luggage because we came all the way from Oregon and put on a Celebration of Life for my 100 yr old mother. It took me over an hour to get all the luggage down the stairs, and I am almost 70 yrs old. I have never been so disrespected. I am 1/2 Native American, and l don't know if Jane didn't like natives, or what, but she just shook her head and stared at me like I was crazy. I have worked hard all my life, been a leader in many situations, am a Christian and show love everywhere I go to all walks of life. I was promised assistance, and wasn't given it for what ever reason. I will never stay at this Best Western again. The rest of the staff were kind and helpful, but when I left Jane treated me with the COLD SHOULDER. NOT what anyone would expect from the person behind the counter. She had no customer service skills. If she had language issues, she should have gotten someone else to assist me. Also why if she couldn't communicate, was she in that position. Best Western Strathmore tried to make up for it with points, and said they would talk to her. Part of the training should be stressing how important CUSTOMER SERVICE is. It is the cheapest form of...
Read moreWe just got back from our short trip out in Strathmore for a school function and I just had to write this review. The hotel was clean and had the amenities we needed for our overnight stay. Unfortunately, in the middle of the night, my son fell ill in the middle of the night. He threw up all over, leaving me having to strip the beddings and clean up as much as I could. It was awful and I had to use up all the towels etc and leave them in the tub. A few minutes later, my other son did the same. We were hit by some kind of bug. This, of course, was highly upsetting. We made a huge mess and u didn’t know what else to do! I phoned the reception to explain the situation. Michelle, from the front desk, was very kind and patient and accommodating with my request for more towels and linens. She assured me that they will take care of it in the morning. She was very kind to ask if I need anything else to just let her know. She even offered to extend our check out time since it was past 2am when this was all happening. The following morning, I went to check out the breakfast area but since we were up so late, it was already all cleaned up. Their staff (I forgot to get her name) offered me a cup of coffee and some sausages that she had just put away and asked if my kids needed anything. I was so blown away by their hospitality. The cleaning lady also was very nice. I was so embarrassed to leave our room in that state but they all made our experience a little bit better. Thank you...
Read moreMy issue is mostly with the travel agency I used. I booked a room specifically big enough for 5 including being pet friendly. I clarified and verified three separate times that these details were non-negotiable. When we arrived the reservation was a room big enough for 4 and not pet friendly. Because it was around midnight when we arrived after a long exhausting drive moving to a different province and the reservation was last minute and non-refundable we did what we could to change rooms to be pet friendly at the same hotel. The only pet friendly room available was one that the hotel staff says they only rent out in emergencies otherwise they do everything they can to avoid renting it, due to the fact it's directly under the breakfast room and it opens at 5:30 am. It was still only big enough for 4 unfortunately. The room was a downgrade from what we originally reserved by $43 which we were not reimbursed for, and on-top of that we had to pay a $22 pet fee that we were told was already included in our original reservation. The TV didn't work and the toilet wouldn't flush and continuously ran... (I'm not going to reach into a hotel toilet to fix this). We told the staff in the morning and we received an apology but nothing more. I'm thankful they were accommodating but not sure I'd ever...
