My boyfriend and I visited The Roadhouse on February 11th for dinner. We arrived at 6 PM. I was pleasantly surprised at how busy the restaurant was. I have gone several times for lunch while in Strathmore but have never experienced the dinner crowd. We were asked to seat ourselves and found a nice table in the corner of the lounge. We were promptly offered beverages and menu by the hostess. Even with the crowd, our server was very timely. My boyfriend ordered the honey hot wings and I ordered the French onion soup. Both were very good. He then ordered the Wrangler, which is basically a beef dip with onions and cheese. I ordered the ham and cheese grilled cheese and salad. Our meals came out quickly, before we could finish our appys. The fries were very good but his sandwich was incorrect. It looked like a plain beef dip. Our server, Joy, was very understanding and admitted there was a mistake. She took the plate and returned it with the Wrangler and all new fries. Exceptional service. The gravy was a bit disappointing as it seemed to be chicken gravy, not beef. My sandwich was good. Salad could have been a bit fresher, but I am noticing the lettuce quality is not great at any restaurant lately. I ordered a bottle of wine as it was half price that evening, so ended up taking half of the bottle home. We were too full for dessert so ordered it to go. The apple crisp and berry cheesecake was presented very well, even in take out containers. Our bill was under $100.00, which we felt was great value. Overall good experience and good service, especially Joy. She was friendly and funny. Making us laugh a few times. Will...
Read moreDiscrimination practices left us never wanting to come back. Let me explain, on our anniversary my wife and I decided to go to the roadhouse. My wife who is blind requires a guide dog in order to navigate. We entered the resturant, and were greeted by Carlos your manager. Pointed us to a rather large table. But we were on our anniversary and wanted to be at a small table where we could be cozy and comfortable. So we went to see if we could find a more pleasant table. Carlos stopped us and said we weren't allowed to do that, even though people before us found thier table. He said there are only two tables for dogs and one was occupied. And we were not allowed to move around the restaurant with the dog, how he expected my wife to move to the washroom and back I don't know. Saying only these two tables are the only tables your allowed to sit at because of dog and thus because of your condition. Is the same as doing the same to anyone of a visible minority or other disability. And also goes against the Alberta Guide Dog Act. When I tried to explain this to him he just argued and tried to justify it by saying people complained. Told him that it doesn't matter what other people said. The resturant wasn,t full. We haven't lodged an official complaint yet. You can message me on messenger, as I do not want to carry on this conversation...
Read moreRoadhouse has a hearty serving of food which are very filling and worth the bucks, the flavors are a delight as it is perfectly seasoned and well cooked. I ordered the beef liver which is very nice a well recommended with the mushroomy sauce and crispy bacon on top and a good side dish of mashed potatoes and vegetables.
Other dishes are excellent as well starting from the clam chowder, caesar salad, pasta and the steak, wonderfuly served to your preference.
Employees are friendly, accomodating, polite and easy to talk to if requesting for something or billing out.
The interior of the restaurant has plenty of tables to accomodate a lot of customers even at the time I was there a party is being held. Tables, chairs floors are clean and the washroom as well. There are a lot of interesting designs and picture frames along the wall that portrays the Canadian way of life.
Will go back and dine if I am passing by the area if they could improve the temperature inside the restaurant which was very hot during the afternoon time I was there probably the AC was busted I don't know about the other patrons but it was uncomfortably toasty inside, luckily I was sitting just beside the window and opened it to let some fresh air in.
Overall it was a pleasant experience, food is excellent, service is fast, dining area is...
