This review is not easy to write because the majority of our party had a good experience but for one person the experience was borderline awful which then leaves the rest of the table feeling off.
First I need to emphasize our issue is not with our server, Gean. He did a fine job.
Our table order was for The Ribs, Chicken Parmigiana, Pulled Pork Potato Skins, and Citrus Calamari and Tempura Shrimp.
The Chicken Parmigiana was good. The Pulled Pork Potato Skins were good. The Calamari and Shrimp were good. What wasn't good was the Ribs.
The Ribs were tough. Very hard to chew. We told our Server and he took them back to the kitchen to try and rectify the situation. He came back a couple of minutes later with THE EXACT SAME PLATE. He told us the kitchen says they're fine. Never in all my years have I had the exact plate of food returned to the table after a complaint was made. Yes our server asked if he could place another order but we declined as everyone at the table was already halfway finished eating. The Manager should have visited our table after our server went back to the kitchen a second time to try to rectify the situation. We did not feel our complaint was taken seriously because the Manager did not care enough to come and see for their self what our issue was. This is unacceptable. As a Manager you should follow up with the Table if one of your Service brings food back to the kitchen NOT SEND THE FOOD BACK TO THE TABLE STATING ITS FINE. When your being charged high prices for a meal there is an expectation that the high price equals higher quality food. This is not the case for this restaurant. Very disappointing. We will not go back because of this one part of an other wise enjoyable experience.
THE MANAGER ON DUTY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES.

Read moreCame in for lunch on a Friday. There were only two other tables in the entire place and at least 4 serving staff, plus kitchen staff and someone dragging around a mop bucket. Our server wasn’t terrible, but definitely not friendly or welcoming either. We sat with dirty plates on our table for quite a lot longer than reasonable, had to ask several times for refills on drinks, and the food was very disappointing. I’m quite sure that the veggies and spaghetti were made days ahead, and as our food was not warm when we got it, but the plates were hot, telling me it sat under a heat lamp for way too long before they decided to serve it to us. Everything on our plates had a yesterday’s leftovers vibe. Fish was very greasy also, like dripping. Even the cheque was stained with grease when she dropped it off at the table. Based on the food, I definitely would not go back. The restaurant is definitely in need of a good deep clean also- our table was sticky and there were greasy hand prints all over the walls. We made the drive out to Strathmore for the unique atmosphere, and that is still pretty cool, and this place’s one redeeming quality. I’d been before and it definitely felt like the food took a hard nose dive today- so I’d recommend only go when they are busy, because then you know you’re not getting served really old food, for top dollar. The owners need to pay more attention to these details, this place has great potential to be a real gem...

No wheelchair access upstairs and call ahead if you want the downstairs area that is wheelchair accessible. I don't use one but I was curious so I asked. Entrees are $15 to $26. Alcoholic drinks are about $8 each. VLTs and a bar downstairs. Resturant upstairs. Service is great. You can see into the kitchen (which is clean) and the uniform seems to be short skirts and tops in black (which is entertaining) Never had a screwed up order in a decade of going here. Great wings. Halloween is a blast here and if it's your birthday you eat free and get a free dessert. They also have a caboose outside. It would be cool if it could be rented for parties. There is an area that is set up like a train car and a very impressive rotunda with a high ceiling. Big town style in a small town setting. Lots of good apps and mains. The fries are amazing. The closest competition is the Roadhouse or Original Joe's which is rather claustrophobic compared to this but has a comparable menu. The priciest option in Strathmore but worth it. Especially if you have a large party of ten or more people which the other places would...
