New Country Motel — Hotel in Swan River

Who is rating a place like this 4 or 5 stars?||This place is barf-o-rama.||||Check in lady was awesome.||Water pressure in shower was adequate, ||Internet, so far, seems great as well.||||That's it for pleasantries.||||First: As soon as you walk into the room, you will be greeted with the smell of cat litter. Cat litter? Yes...week old cat litter. ||||For the love of god, bring an extension cord. There is no outlet near your bed and the only one in the sleeping area is 7 feet high by the air conditioner. The only other outsleef is taken by the TV and microwave and then the other options are in/near the bathroom. Nothing near your bed at all though.||||Speaking of beds...they are crazy hard. The bed sheets and pillows are very low quality so do not expect your best sleep.||||The walls really need a fresh coat of paint. Very worn and dirty.||||No deadbolt on the door. Sliding chain only. No card key for the doors here either and they instead use a keypad for entry.||||Parking lot is poorly lit but there's camera's outside, apparently.||||I can't get over the smell of cat litter. We chose to stay in Swan River because of its proximity to The Pas. Its a cute little town. We originally tried the Super 8 which was totally booked for the night. We were directed to a motel across the street. I apologize for forgetting the name of the motel but the owner was a lovely woman who was so apologetic because she had no rooms left. She offered to call the New Country Motel. We drove a few businesses down and was greeted by the Owner. She offered to show me a room. Cute and super clean large room. The beds were a welcome relief from some of the beds we had previously slept on. Popcorn was available while we watched a movie later that night. The bathroom was immaculate and modern looking. There were bottles of water and we were told if there was anything we needed not to hesitate to call her. Our dog was permitted to stay with us providing we did not leave her alone. The room was $65 for the night. It was by far the nicest and cleanest motel that we have ever stayed in. I felt so comfortable and relaxed. I wish all motels offered this quality...

We have stayed at the New Country Motel 3 times now, and it is our first choice while in Swan River. The rooms are clean and very quiet. There are some nice personal touches in the room as well - microwave popcorn and water, make-up remover cloths, etc. The room we stayed in had an air conditioner, microwave & fridge. The on duty manager was very helpful, informing us of the discount we qualified for and collecting all the things we forgot in the room LOL. We noticed a nice common area to sit in just off the lobby, but we were not there long enough to enjoy it. Next time. ||The bathroom did not have a hair dryer (I only mention it because if you are like me, you'd rather not pack your own LOL), but that was the only thing missing and it didn't bother us any.||This hotel is close to the large new pool, coffee shop, and large new gym as well. It is located towards the end of a main street in Swan River and it is very easy to access everything. ||We will stay here the next time we are...
