We were looking for a quick getaway and decided to spend time exploring the area around the Welland Canal. We discovered this hotel is not only along the welland Canal, but also every room faces the Lock 7. You can sit on your balcony and watch the ships go up and down the canal, as they rise and fall in the lock.
The motel is very well appointed. It is not glamorous or fancy, but it is spotless and comfortable. The rooms are spacious and clean. There are no odours or problems with the room. The room cleaner was very nice and friendly – we had great conversations.
Guest check-in was simple -and a little old-school charming. Registration cards, sign-in guest book, and big room key chains.
The hotel is located overlooking the canal, and is conveniently located to the Welland canal Bike / walking trails. This makes it a very popular and great location for outdoor enthusiasts.
The bathroom was spotless and free of issues. Towels are a tiny bit small, but they are happy to give you more. There is a coffee maker, and a fridge in the room.

There was a breakfast room with many interesting pictures depicting canal vessels and the inn’s history but was not operable due to construction. There was no breakfast offered to guests during my stay. This property has so much potential. The benefit to it being still rather rudimentary is that it is very affordable for families on a budget. All in all I would stay again because the experience is unique and overrides any...
