I just went to The Burgh for dinner. I wanted a burger.

I was NOT prepared.

FIRST OF ALL, the owners are CENSORED AWESOME!!!

Stephanie set the stage for our initial impression. She's fun, bubbly, friendly and just a bright, shiny little ball of energy. We talked for 10 minutes before we even ordered.

Craig was in the kitchen preparing orders, but made sure to introduce himself before we finished our meal. He was also very friendly and came off just as welcoming.

They seem like our kind of people!

The food was AMAZING. It was well prepared, and came out very quickly. We had Wing Dip Wontons and Biggie Rolls to start. Next came the Black and Blue (feature) and the Nutter (with caramelized onions added on) as our mains.

The starters and mains were both mouthwatering. 100/10 (yes, the extra zero is completely intentional) would order these, and would also eat here again. And again.... And again........

The Burgh does not have a dining room. However, they have partnered with their neighbor, "Harry's New York Bar" to still have a dine-in experience.

As a convenience, you can get a drink at Harry's, and Stephanie or Craig will bring your meal to you in Harry's dining room.

You can either order at The Burgh's service counter, then leave the building to get to Harry's, OR, you can go right into Harry's and the bartender will call someone over from the burgh, and you can order then and there. There is no through traffic, though, so, choose..... WISELY.

I can't recommend a better place than The Burgh for a FANTASTIC burger. Will be trying the wings next time.

See you guys...

If you're looking for a flavorful and fun meal, the Popper Burger with jalapeños is a spicy and satisfying choice. The crispy poppers give it a nice crunch, while the heat from the jalapeños brings a punch that's perfectly balanced with the savory burger. On the other hand, the Nutter Burger is a unique twist, combining chipotle peanut butter and hot honey for a sweet, smoky, and spicy kick that pairs surprisingly well with the bacon. It's a flavor explosion that’s definitely worth trying.

As for the sides, the salt and pepper chicken wings are perfectly crispy, seasoned just right, and make for a great snack or appetizer. And the fries? Golden, crispy, and ideal for dipping, they’re a great companion to the bold flavors of the burgers and wings.

To top off the experience, grab a cold beer and enjoy the atmosphere in the bar next door, where you can kick back, watch your favorite game, and dive into this delicious spread. Perfect for a casual, tasty night out!

The friendly staff really adds to the overall experience, making the meal even more enjoyable. They're welcoming, attentive, and quick to offer recommendations. It’s always nice when the service matches the great food, and in this case, the staff creates a relaxed and fun vibe that complements the atmosphere perfectly. Whether you're a regular or a first-timer, you’ll feel...

My wife and I drove out to Thorold, from Hamilton, specifically to eat at The Burgh.

It wasn't what we expected.

First, there is no "in house" dining, they have an arrangement with the dive bar next door, where patrons can eat the Burgh fare.

The seating arrangements definitely weren't what we expected for our Valentine's Day lunch - but that is the 1 and only negative about The Burgh. The bartender was virtually useless; she didn't know what a "stout" was and offered to make any mix drink "with vodka" specifically.

All that aside, back to the star of the show: the food.

The Burgh's burgers were phenomenal. When you mentally imagine what a burger should taste like (that fresh, meaty, charred sort of taste) the Burgh embodies that 100%.

The flavors are straight forward, nothing over the top. Sometimes simple flavors done with extreme care and skill can provide the most exquisite dining experiences. Back to a time before all the "fluff" from many of today's burger restaurants.

I also ordered a Jamaican patty "to go" - I ate it at home and it was exactly to the standards I would have expected after eating the burger. Perfect.

To top it all off, the owners are lovely. The establishment is owned by a couple in their middle-age and you feel at home as soon as you walk in the door.

All in all, it was very much worth the...

Heard great things, so hit up The Burgh hoping to be delighted but unfortunately we were quite disappointed. On arrival we were surprised to learn The Burgh doesn't have it's own dining area - orders are placed at The Burgh which is a small area with a cash station and chalkboard menu. Then you have to go to the pub next door for service. Totally fine, we paid for our food order with credit and made our way down the street to the pub next door. The pub is cash only for drinks and decor minimalistic. Food arrived promptly through a shared staff entrance but the burgers were incredibly greasy and not at all what we'd expected. The cheese burger had several types of cheese piled on but the most prominent was cheese whiz. I understand it was a cheese burger, so heavy on the cheese, but would you put spam on a meat sandwich? We left two of our three burgers uneaten. The lady who served us was kind and tried to course correct; unfortunately the burgers just weren't for us. I will say we scored the last Jamaican patty and it was absolutely delicious. Sadly with all of the other food left uneaten, it's hard to justify $80 spent on three burgers and a Jamaican patty. We were expecting a fun pub night with tasty food. It's not at all what we experienced. Very disappointed!
