HOTEL TARRAFAL — Hotel in Santiago

We spent five nights in this hotel and were very satisfied. The hotel is located close to the beach and the city centre. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was big, the bed very comfortable and everything very clean. Also the internet connection was very good. They offered free water in the lobby, which was great. We could pay our stay in Euros with the exchange rate you get in the bank, which was very fair.|We only have two suggestions for improvement:|1. It's a pity that the breakfast officially starts at 8 a.m. but guest are only served from about 8:15 a.m. There is no buffet and guest are not served all at once but bit by bit. Therefore, the breakfast takes quite a long time, which is no problem if one has no plans for the day. But as we sometimes had booked excursions that started at 8:45 or 9:00 in the morning, we had to eat very fast, which wasn't pleasant. It would therefore be nice if breakfast started earlier and/or guests were served faster.|2. On the second day the cleaning lady threw away our soap and we didn't get a new one the whole week. Furthermore, the cleaning lady threw away the package of my eye drops from the bedside table. The Vista Mar hotel offers 12 rooms and has an extended building since a year. The hotel radiates a relaxed atmosphere. Hotel staff applies service in a slightly arrogant style, a sign of full bookings and easy earned money.||||Our spacious non-smoking room had a large double-bed. The adequately furnished room had a desk & chair, comfy chair, air-condition, flat screen TV, wardrobe, and a separate bathroom with washbasin, toilet & shower. All was clean. Windows can be opened and have mosquitos screen. No coffee & tea making facility in the room.||||Complimentary Wi-Fi Internet and free parking opposite the property. A bar on the roof top terrace with view of the beach. Breakfast is served with ample variety and good coffee. You also can eat at the garden restaurant. The restaurant is overpriced for what it offers. As a result you will find few guests dining here. ||||Overall we had an OK time. We would recommend Vista Mar to anyone who seeks a good sleep with the beach in front...

We loved our stay in Vista Mar. The building is nicely decorated and airy. Our room was small but clean and with all amenities (safe, mini fridge, lcd, air conditioning) and a balcony. Daily cleaning was provided and someone was always at the reception (Tito). ||Breakfast was yummy and different everyday, we ate it in the beautiful terrace, with nice forniture, music and coffee served to perfection by smiley Daniel. |The wi-fi in the breakfast terrace was better than in the room, which was a plus.||From Vista Mar you can walk everywhere in Tarrafal, including restaurants, and the beach!||Wonderful place to enjoy a relaxed couple of days...
