Hotelera San Rafael — Hotel in Coyhaique

I was trying to give someone information on this particular hotel from a previous trip when I came across the review section.||||6 of us took up residence in the apartment above the office back in February 2012. It included a kitchen as well. Location was quiet, rooms were clean as were the bathrooms. The breakfast provided was excellent and filling. For a jump off point into the wilderness, this was fine. The only downside was the stair's hand rail was loose from the wall- attached with molly screws. When one of my traveling companions used it to get up stairs, he pulled it out of the wall completely. We told management and they just removed it. I consider this a minor issue and would stay here again as it was close to the town center, etc. I don't think my wife would enjoy the room, but again, just to adjust to the time change and crash after a 20 hour flight, it was perfect. It is a lovely and beautiful stay in the center of Coyhaique. The staff is very very friendly and the service is good. I've stayed two times this year, and made use of a room and a cabin. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. In the rooms the bathroom is clean and quite big. The cabins have a little kitchen and have a bit of a weird division, the bedroom is much smaller. I highly recommend though to stay in Hotelera San Rafael, it is close to the central plaza, supermarkets, and nice restaurants. A good place to stay...

We rented one of the cabins for a few days in February. The smell of mould was overpowering and stuck in our clothes even after several cleanings. The room was dirty at first, and the overall impression was that this might have been a nice place a long time ago.
