Very attractive building around a nice but unheated swimming pool in well kept grounds. Good sized rooms with comfortable beds. The temperature was just right so you didn’t need the AC which made for a very comfortable night.||Breakfast was just about adequate. There were no pastries and very basic sliced bread. There were however decent yoghurts and eggs were cooked to order. No decaffeinated coffee.||The place seems to be run almost single handedly by a very cheerful and helpful lady.||This hotel is perhaps just a bit further from the town than is ideal. It’s a pleasant walk though there is a surprising amount of traffic around and there are shops and restaurants within 10 minutes walks including a garage which will change money for you, but it gets a bit wearing trekking 30 minutes to the Main Street every day.||There was a sitting space outside the room overlooking the pool, which wasn’t heated but was bearable to swim in. Reception closed at 7pm which meant there were no sitting or bar facilities after that, but there are bars and shops within 10 minutes. The hotel was quite quiet, we seemed to be the only people staying on the last day which was a bit spooky. We walked to the airport for our flight!||Although this hotel is nice I think I would prefer to stay somewhere...
Read morePuku Vai was an excellent choice of place to stay during our five day visit to Easter Island. The room was spotless, the furnishings and beds comfortable. We were very glad for the functioning air conditioner. A very good and filling breakfast was included with the room price. The WiFi was also very good, much better than we anticipated. After a day of touring we enjoyed lounging at the pool. A family of chickens and a couple of kitties added to the ambiance along with beautifully landscaped grounds. The hotel is very close to the airport, but perhaps a rather long walk (5-10 minutes) with luggage. We rented a car so getting to town was not a problem. It would have been a very long walk. Cabs come quickly when called. There are so few flights from the airport and none at night, so airport noise was never an issue. The staff was very friendly and helpful with excellent restaurant recommendations and in responding to general questions. We were very glad that we picked Puku Vai as our hotel for an exceptional Easter...
Read moreNo one goes to Isla de Pascua to sit and lounge around in their hotel, yet Puku Vai is comfortable enough to enable that. Breakfast is a little austere, yet home cooked eggs are on offer, and the coffee is quite drinkable. The lady on reception is very warm and friendly with useful advice on the trips and the best local restaurants. She sent us to the nearest one at the corner of the high street called Aringa Ora, and it was excellent. Some lazy people have whined about the 'distant' location: it is a mere 15 minute walk to the main drag of Hanga Roa! There are also a couple of supermarkets in close proximity. The large room was very comfortable and the water pressure strong. Spotlessly clean and well maintained premises with a pool as an added bonus to cool off after long excursions to...
