Hostal Kay — Hotel in La Serena

My parents and I stayed at Hostal Kay during the solar eclipse. We loved it. My parents had a private room with a private bathroom and I had a private room with a shared bathroom. Katerine, the owner of the hostal, and all of her family were very, very welcoming and looked after us all the time. We felt immediately at home. The location of the hostal is excellent, ten minutes walk from the central square the Plaza de Armas, but also on a quiet side street so it was easy to get a good night’s sleep. The hostal decoration is very cosy, with a wood-burning fire, and spotlessly clean. We really enjoyed the breakfasts and often had warm, freshly-baked bread. We also liked the fresh mint/lemon balm tea. Nice sandwiches and drinks were available, which we had some nights (the beer is local from the Elqui valley). The internet was very good, showers were piping hot and there is a relaxing and pretty back garden (with a swimming pool). We went on a tour to see the Elqui Vally, and the tour company was directly in contact with the hostal to make sure the pickup time etc was coordinated. We really loved our stay and thoroughly...

My girlfriend and I had only planned on staying at this hostel for 2 nights but then I got sick and we had to stay a further two nights. The owners of the hostel were absolutely wonderful! We owe so much to these amazing people. They offered help in so many ways including cooked food and drink which aided my recovery and got us back on the road. Es un hostal centrico en La Serena, estás a un minuto a pie de la municipalidad. El lugar es limpio, atendido por sus dueños (muy amables por cierto). La atención es personalizada, te hacen sentir como en casa. El desayuno es muy rico y contundente. Tienen factura si es que andas en viaje de negocios.
