I spent four nights here in June 2024. The hotel is modern, inviting, fashionable, very clean, and importantly in winter, very cozy and warm. The reception team were all very welcoming and helpful with advice and local recommendations and spoke excellent English. I had early morning starts and arranging a very early breakfast (before the breakfast service was due to start) was no problem. Likewise, a late check-out request was accommodated. |My room (and I think all the rooms) had a wonderful view over the water with incredible mountains in the background. The bed was so comfy and the shower was excellent. The heating also worked very well (adjustable radiator) and I could also open the window if I wanted a blast of fresh air. All in all I was very comfortable and looked forward to returning to my room after a long day of hiking around. |The hotel restaurant was closed when I stayed (I think because it was the off season) and so you'll need to take an Uber or taxi into the town for dinner (short, under 10 minutes, and inexpensive trip). Breakfast was a bit limited, again, given I was there in the off season, but totally adequate and filled me up for the morning. I would certainly stay here again. It was...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel for a night upon our return from Torres del Paine . The staff were very helpful and the room was comfortable .The breakfast was very good with a good variety of pastries. The food was fresh and the server was attentive . Definitely a good start to the day served in the best room with a view of the water and mountains. The view from our rom was just as spectacular. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and gave us great recommendations . The fixtures from old windows and doors and the decor were delightful. It is located a little away from the center which makes it a peaceful place. The hotel also gave us the best Pisco sours as welcome drinks from the bar.|Disliked · This is an older hotel ( Borde Glacier) that has been renovated and I really hope they put in an elevator as the stairs are hard to carry up luggage. Also the road leading to the hotel is extremely steep and narrow and quite dangerous especially if the driver in front of you doesn't know how to drive and stalls...
Read moreThe hotel lobby and views are great. Service is wonderful. People are kind. The rooms are ok with big comfy pillows. Bathroom looks a bit old but does its job (I stayed in two diff rooms and one had weak water pressure for the shower, the other was fine). My biggest disappointment why it’s losing 1-2 stars was breakfast. For a $250/night hotel, this breakfast is so poor. It was similar in some ways to the breakfast I had at all campsites in the national park. It had 1 or 2 types of fresh fruit. One day it had one type of fresh cheese, next day it was slices. Same we got at Refugio. The pastry I had was impossible to bite into. Butter jam bread cereals. I mean, it’s not horrible. But it’s $250 a night ! And considering the hotel down the street Altiplanico costs the same and has a wonderful breakfast. And after 8 days of having breakfast at the Refugio and coming back to civilization for the same / worse breakfast… I was...
