Hotel Terraviña — Hotel in Santa Cruz

We stayed here for four nights at the tail-end of our time in Chile. We had originally booked another hotel, but came to realize transportation to/from that property would likely have been challenging. We pivoted to Hotel TerraViña because of the great TripAdvisor reviews and the location.||The first thing I want to point out is how amazing the staff is at TerraViña. We had LENGTHY WhatsApp chats in advance of our stay where they answered our questions, set up restaurant reservations and winery tours, and arranged our transportation to/from Santiago. Once we arrived, the service was just as good, if not better. The staff coordinated our transport every day and made some ad hoc winery recommendations, e.g., RC Viñedos, which ended up being our favorite winery. It is obvious the staff truly cares about your experience. ||We enjoyed the walkability the hotel offered. We walked to dinner every night. We walked to Laura Hartwig's vineyards. We walked into Santa Cruz for coffee. This is the main reason we selected the hotel. Ironically, our favorite dinner was at the hotel's restaurant, but it was nice having choices on a nightly basis.||The rooms are charming and sizeable, albeit a bit dated (especially the bathrooms). I was part of a group of 60 people who came to Chile for a birthday party, and Terravina was our home base. The owner and staff did such a fabulous job!!! Despite the size of our group everything at Terravina was perfect. The meals they prepared for us were spectacular, the drinks they made were strong and good and they even brought in a traditional band one evening which was great fun. The owner also went out of her way to ensure my husband and I were accommodated for some work we had to do in a quiet room with wifi. The trip ended with a fabulous party the staff threw for us for New Year's Eve, complete with tons of balloons, NYE accessories, bountiful champagne and possibly the greatest cover band I've ever seen.
