Ristorante Vino Bello — Restaurant in Santa Cruz

We stayed at the Hotel Terra Vina on the Laura Hartwig vineyard. This restaurant is one of 2 also located on the property and accessible by a lovely 10 minute stroll through the vineyards if you don't fancy driving. We'd had lunch here a week before and knew what to expect. The evening meal was delicious and the atmosphere of dining al fresco incomparable. HOWEVER...... On scrutinizing the bill we discovered that we had been charged an additional CP13,500 for a third bottle of wine, where we had only bought two. They were most apologetic but I can't acccepy that this was a genuine mistake. If we'd had three bottles we would have been under the table. As it was we only drank a small amount of the second one. This is opportunism at it's most distasteful and we won't be going back....

I don’t understand the good reviews here. The view is beautiful, absolutely but this was by far the worst food we had in our month long stay in Chile. The food took 45 min, they must have forgotten bc all the other tables that came after us were served already. Our salad came out drenched and soggy and the seafood pasta was rubbery and honestly, flavourless and our steak was under cooked. We spoke to the owner and she was rude and just made excuses, which was fine but I had expected at least and acknowledgement of the errors. I was shocked after receiving such great hospitality everywhere else. If you actually have high standards for food do your self a favor and book at Fuegos de Apaltas, it is incredible! So, the setting is amazing. The staff are very friendly and positive. The food was, however, beyond disappointing. Beef carpaccio was drowned in a vinegary sauce that masked any flavour the beef may have had. The real killer was the pizza. It was covered in sooooo much cheese of the plastic-ey, flavourless variety.
