We wished we could have stayed longer! The room was cozy, organized, clean, and had lots of storage for all of our gear and luggage. Also, we could see the mountain range and the river... the perfect view to wake up to. It was so quiet that we slept all night. The food... omigosh...we were always so excited to eat what they had prepared. All meals were memorable, even the packed lunches! Portions were too big for me, but perfect for my partner. They were able to adjust to less food for me so that it wouldn't go to waste. The staff were so accommodating and thoughtful! I'm smiling just thinking about them. 🤗🥰 I wanted to cry when we were all saying our goodbyes. *1.5 hours drive NW from Puerto Natales on rough roads with potholes. I suggest having an SUV and lots of caffeine. Also, Natales has the closest gas station, so plan accordingly. *We almost hit a puma as it was crossing the road and most likely hunting for the jackrabbits hopping around, so be vigilant especially when driving early in the morning or after sunset. *Less than 10minutes to Serrano entrance Ranger Station of Torres del Paine National Park *Less than 1 hour to short hikes around TDPNP *1.5 hours drive NE to Guarderia Laguna Amarga Ranger Station where we met our guides for the Base Torres del Paine winter hike, and caravanned with them to...
Read moreTalk about a great experience. The customer service from the staff here is incredible. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay while we were in Rio Serrano. It was great to drive into the National park, Hike Torres del Paine and grande Paine via the ferry and know that at the end of our day we would be having an amazing meal cooked by the staff at Kau. Thank you to Felipe, Carolina, and Alejandro plus all of the amazing chefs in the back of the house that made our experience unforgettable.
They have wifi, if you need for work, the cabin we stayed at was four bunk beds and we spent most of our time in the main house playing cards and drinking wine.
All the other guests were also very friendly and communicative. Just like-minded individuals looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city living.

It left us in a dangerous situation with no cell service, no lodging, and limited fuel to find alternative accommodation at that time (nearest fuel station was 2 hours away). Thankfully, we saw a light at a nearby neighbor (Konkashken Lodge, which was booked) and the owner was incredibly helpful with his internet capability and helped us contact the Grey Lake Lodge 45 minutes away that had availability. If it wasn’t for Patrick, Kau Rio Serrano would have left us in beyond dire situation. The property has not been responsive and could not be less professional. In all my travels, this is absolutely the worst experience I have had. It...
