We stayed at this hotel at 3 different occasions during our business trip to China. The rooms all looked alike (fully carpeted floor, huge TV, firm bed, little sofa and a desk) and met all my basic needs. I was unlucky with my first (7th floor) and third room (6th floor) which smelled of cigarette smoke, but my next second room was totally fine (7th floor)! The only thing might be the carpet that just feels a bit dirty and thus I was wearing slippers all the time, as well as there being varying degree of mold in the bathrooms.
The breakfast is okay for us westerners, and the staff very friendly even though their English is very limited. Location is good, not too much noise in the evening and an easy bike ride to the Forbidden city. Also close to many restaurants...
Read moreThe biggest disappointment is that none of the personnel speaks English apart from a couple of words. How that is possible in an international hotel chain is beyond me. The receptionists used a translation device, which is okay for checking in and out, but I wonder how it would hold up if we needed urgent assistance of some kind. The hotel is fairly close to the Tianqiao subway station. The rooms are clean enough; my husband noticed tobacco smell but I didn't. As for the room, it was nice although there was no power outlet on my side of the bed. The wi-fi was very unstable too. The rooms are so rough. I don't think they've been updated for 30 years. The beds and bedding are very clean. But the carpets are just atrocious which makes you feel like it's just so grimy.
