I really enjoyed our stay here. The welcome we received when we arrived, including little gifts and an impromptu game of darts was a great way to start. The check-in was straightforward and there was always someone available who could speak English. The staff here are great and make a big difference. There was some tea avaiable to refresh oursevles while go through check-in as well. ||||The only negative I'd say is that it's a bit tricky to find but we took a picture of the outside from here with us so we had the proper Chinese name and an idea of what to look for which helped. However, we could walk to the Temple of Heaven in about 15 mins. Some staff, mainly the young girls on reception, try to be helpful but language is a definite problem even with a translation app.||They will organise tours to Great Wall etc but you have to be persistent in getting across what you want...its not displayed anywhere.||There are no facilities for food or drink on site other than water,tea/coffee,yogurt drink in rooms and a flask of hot tea at reception. However local restaurant next door is OK for local food and beers.||The subway is not at all far..turn right out of hotel and keft at junction walk 10-15 mins to Tiangtandongmen Station...right outside Temple of Heaven. Pearl Market past Temple of Heaven entrance to the right (opposite side of road)||Left out of hotel and 5 min walk brings you to morning fruit market and Langton Park. 2rmb entrance, lovely place and great for seeing locals...
Read moreThe first look was not impressed but once you get the service, you can say it is underrated. The first night I had a problem due to expedia (booking through Expedia always got a problem, many times already). And I couldn’t check in because my booking was not reflected to their system, But the hotel manage to get me another hotel for a night for free, then I transferred back on the next day, the room was nice, and amnesties are more than you need, even provided yogurt and milk candy, etc. I do recommend this hotel. The other issue was the location showed on DiDi map and Google Map (you will need to bring your SIM from your country and turn roaming on to use google and Facebook service as China SIM blocks those...
