JI Hotel Renmin Road Dalian — Hotel in Dalian City

I arrived Dalian and the driver at airport recommended me to take a look at the room. He quoted me RMB120/night and to my surprise, it's one th best deal I've ever gotten through my leisure trip. ||||The room is clean, bright and spacious. The heater, TV , mini bar, free internet access are all working well and without glitches. ||||The breakfast which was included in the RMB120, was slightly above average for 3-star Chinese standard. ||||The location was not close to railway station, but for size of Dalian, I covered the city by foot. I even carry my luggage from hotel to railway station, which is about 15mins walk. ||||The rack rate was like RMB500-600 per night, and discounted rate was supposed to be abt 250-300. I have been coming to Dalian for many years and almost always stayed at Renmin Lu, my preferred location in the city.Some of the hotels I have used in the past were all fully booked. Not sure why?? Hence, I choose to try this hotel, which is part of a chain, similar to the French Accor/Ibis chain. The hotel is simple but very functional. It has all what you need/want for a stay of a couple of days while in Dalian. Their rooms are fairly large, clean and have excellent wireless WIFI. There is NO fridge in the room, which could be a problem in summer time. I wish the 'office' desk would have also a phone there and not just at the bed. Seems expensive for their service. Smelling room. Someone was smoking in the room or corridors around my room. No bottled water provided. No refrigerator in the room. Hard to control the room temperature with the air conditioner. Not so near from the Zhongshan square, around 15 minutes from the subway station with your suitcase. But convenient.
