Average for Chinese hotel -- however would barely get a "poor" by Western standards.||||Location - ||Good location! Just around the corner to the Carrefour by the Sanba Square. If you stay here, definitely check out the nigh market that happens nightly outside of the Carrefour 8PM-2AM(?). May be difficult to find your first night.||||Building -||The building houses quite a few other things:||1st floor has a Lawson's convenience store outside, which is nice to pick up a beer, drink, or snacks. 2nd floor has a coffee bar - a bar that also serves coffee. Too bad it usually just wreaks of cigarette smoke. 3rd floor is a restaurant with a lot of a smaller private rooms. 4th floor is a KTV bar. I'm told there's also a sauna and spa as well. Lots to explore.||||Rooms -||Fairly decently sized: long bathroom with a bathtub shower, a double door closet, two double beds, and a sitting area that is curiously on a raised platform. The space between the beds is pretty small. The carpets were rather stained - definitely wear the provided slippers. Some of the sheets are better than others. We got a set with a couple of cigarette burns and a comfortable with some black marks, but otherwise comfortable - fairly comfortable against your skin. The bed was pretty hard, but standard by Chinese standards. The towels were clean, but had some tattering on some of them. However, room service came regularly to change towels and re-make the bed. The room also came with two mini bottles of water daily, which is nice :)||||Wifi -||We were told that rooms got wifi, however it was SUPER spotty in the room. We had the guy even "fix" the system and got moved to a room right next to a router, but it was still spotty - you could occasionally download a few emails at random points in the middle of the night.||||Breakfast -||Run 7AM-10AM, but you really want to get there by 8AM at the latest. There's about 12 cold dishes, 8 hot dishes, hard boiled egg, congee, green bean congee, and soy milk. Decent, but nothing too exciting.||||Not too exciting, but not horrible by...
Read moreThe room was clean and the price was reasonable, but the front desk experience left a very negative impression and ruined the start of my trip. When I checked in, a woman at the front desk, probably in her late 30s, tried to take a photo of my face without giving any explanation. I asked, “Why are you taking a picture? Other hotels didn’t do this,” but she ignored me and turned to another female staff member to ask, “Aren’t we not supposed to take photos?” Her response felt evasive and unprofessional.I had booked two non-smoking rooms, but one of them clearly smelled like smoke. I asked why I wasn’t informed in advance that one room wasn’t non-smoking, but again, she acted like she didn’t understand what I was saying. She also didn’t provide any information about breakfast—where it was served or what time—until I asked specifically. Even then, her answers were vague and unhelpful.Previous reviews mentioned friendly front desk service and helpful communication via WeChat, which made me look forward to staying here. However, the staff member I encountered was not friendly at all, and I couldn’t see any of the great service others had described. It made me wonder if those reviews were even genuine. While the room itself was clean and the value for money was decent, the front desk employee’s attitude made a terrible first impression. I hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously and improves its...
Read moreI arrived fairly late and appreciated that my check-in was very easy. As others have said, the room door mechanism for the card reader was tempermental, but nothing serious. My Executive Queen Double room was a little smaller than expected, but it had everything - including a work desk (not a silly ledge facing a mirror) 😀Washroom was fine, but I would say to those for whom mobility is an issue, the tub was a high step.Great comfortable bed.Cleaning lady was very keen and friendly, yet I would say that there were a few particles on the carpet, so I guess the vaccuming needs to be more thorough.Buffet breakfast was satisfactory.Front desk staff was very helpful at all times - through translation. I can recommend the massage place across the street - which is advertised as a hotel service.A comfortable, established place, just 3 km and 10 yuan from Dalian's...
