I’m here for the Canton fair and decided to stay at this hotel based on the fact that I’m a Hilton vacation club member and also Hilton Gold member decided to give Conrad Guangzhou a try as I’ve experienced a beautiful stay a few days ago at Conrad Shenzhen
The rooms here are slightly dated but the location is fabulous attached to the mall you have IGC Mall, which brings you to a variety of stores for internationally recognize brands to local charms there’s great restaurants and stores you’ll recognize from food & clothes like Uniqlo, Mimiso, Sephora, etc
I decided to write this review solely for the Frontdesk service I’ve experience with Patrick Zhen his customer service was excellent and went above and beyond to ensure it meets a level quality at Conrad Guangzhou
As a foreigner travelling to this hotel you need the extra support to use the RMB currency and the hotel has an easy to use currency exchange machine, but you also need support from the front desk. Patrick was able to help seamlessly.
However, there’s other front desk (a lady) who seems new and wasn’t at helpful and quite stiff in her customer service more following policies by the books without providing any Customer Service of a five star hotel. She wasn’t able to problem solve and didn’t recognize the clients needs. The room she assigned was also very mediocre and was quite dated and needs repair.
The Chinese food was excellent and it is located on the fifth floor. It has a wide range of exquisite Cantonese cuisine and it’s worth...
Read moreStayed at Conrad Guangzhou for 3 nights after coming from Sheraton Guangzhou. Service at Conrad is definitely a notch better than Sheraton, and we were first asked to pay extra to get an upgrade which we declined initially, and we were an hour earlier than the checkin time so the room was not ready. We came back to check in at 3pm and the room was still not ready, the floor manager spotted us waiting, approached and helped us upgrade the room and an additional bed for 3 adults as we were here to celebrate a birthday. So the upgrade came complimentary and some welcome snacks. The room was settled swiftly in an hour from arranging the room and getting housekeeping to setup the additional bed.
In room amenities were great too, especially because there’s 3 sinks, for us to use at the same time, Bryedo shampoo and body wash as usual, customer service/helpdesk was also very responsive if you need urgent cleaning because of a spill.
Location was a little far from most of the tourist spots and it’s a one-way road which will experience some heavy traffic especially in the evening. About 30mins travel time per location, and up to 40mins if it’s peak period.
Connected to a decent mall, mostly with foreign brands as it’s upscale at IGC, river and canton tower views are great. Food selection was ok nearby as well, quite a number of Michelin star restaurants but a...
Read moreThis was my first stay at the Conrad Guangzhou, and overall, it was a fantastic experience. As someone who has stayed at most of Guangzhou’s 5-star hotels, I can confidently say this is one of the best. ||I was warmly welcomed at check-in as a Hilton Gold member and received a generous upgrade to a spacious suite—complete with two toilets, ample living space, and an incredibly comfortable bed with perfect pillows. The hotel’s location is ideal, right in the heart of the city and connected to a large shopping mall, making it extremely convenient for Canton Fair visitors. ||My only complaint is the hotel’s unreasonable incidental deposit policy. Despite paying for my room in cash upon arrival, the front desk insisted on placing a RMB 2000 hold on my credit card. To make matters worse, I was told the refund could take up to a month to process after cancellation. For context, my room rate was only RMB 1400/night, so the deposit amount felt excessive—especially compared to the RMB 500 hold required at the Shangri-La Ningbo, where I stayed at the night before. ||While I highly recommend the Conrad for its luxury, service, and location, the deposit policy is unnecessarily strict and could be a dealbreaker for some guests. Hopefully, management will reconsider...
