We decided to visit the same restaurant for the second time, opting for a different setting this round. We were given a private room to celebrate our New Year’s Eve dinner, and I truly enjoyed both the service and the food.
Our meal began with a simple yet delightful pan-roasted peanut dish infused with vinegar—a perfect way to kick off the evening. The menu featured familiar favorites such as roasted pigeon, char siu, and pork belly in sweet sauce, alongside a unique fried fatty char siu. The sugar coating added just the right touch of sweetness, making it stand out.
The steamed half-shell prawns with garlic and vermicelli, prepared in a classic Cantonese style, were absolutely delicious. A unique highlight was the fried eggplant, paired beautifully with a nourishing double-boiled pork soup with herbs. To excite our taste buds, we indulged in spicy mapo tofu, a dish we’ve been searching for—and this version did not disappoint.
Although the fried pigeon was as flavorful as ever, it was in high demand, and we could only enjoy half a portion. The steamed half-shell prawns, though a common Cantonese dish, were well-executed. The star of the evening, however, was the clay pot rice with preserved sausage and intestine. The fragrance of the rice, combined with the satisfying crunch of the crispy burnt layer, made it the perfect centerpiece of the meal.
For dessert, we shared a massive polo bun, another standout that was ideal for two. All in all, this restaurant proved to be a fantastic choice for our New Year’s Eve celebration, offering a memorable dining experience filled with...
Read moreAs you would expect from a multiple Michelin 5 star restaurant.. the food is excellent. The attention to detail is visible in the food and preparation. The sashimi was fresh and presented very beautifully. The duck was outstanding. The bbq beef ribs were great but at this level I would expect them to be a bit more tender and cut better. Some pieces weren't fully separated which is not what I would expect at this level. The ambiance is nice and there is a server for every private room. However there is a TV running at all times with food videos which is not necessary at a nice restaurant as id distracts from the dining experience. It should be about the guests and the foods and not more ads about the restaurant itself.
The service was courteous and fast, but I would not say it was up to global fine dining experience. I've seen much more high end professional service from seasoned...
Read moreAmazing quality of food served here with a wide range of different cantonese style dishes. The bolo bun is the biggest one i’ve ever seen in my life and also the tastiest one. it’s crisp on the outside and so fluffy and soft on the inside; AND it even has pineapple jam filling on the inside! The roast goose and char siew were good here too! Tofu was homemade n it was the softest tofu ive eaten up to this point (but when i visited Teochew, in a small town, they served the softest n best tofu i’ve eaten in my life) the claypot rice was well done without being too overly salty and has the nice rice crisp at the bottom. The steam 黄花鱼 with minced meat at the bottom was good too, can’t go wrong with that fish as the meat of it is naturally very soft. Great ambience for a nice dinner. It’s a tad pricey for...
