Lets start off by saying our June, 2024 stay here was incredible! I'm planning to do a youtube video on it as I don't see anything on this hotel that's useful. Whatever I found online seem ancient. I was very skeptical about this place. My wife and I are very picky with hotels nowadays. Knowing how things are in China, when my dad recommended this place for our family of 6(2 kids, 5 and 11 yo), we were very skeptical about it. My parents are the type that likes to save money and if it were them 2 traveling, they would stay at those hostels or whatever. So we're like...ehh...i dunno about this place. The reason of choise for my dad was /is it's very close to a lot of attractions & the infamous Beijing Road(about a 15 min walk). Mainly, my dad wanted to stay here because it was only a few blocks from where we grew up. I used to live in the slums in Guangzhou; no a/c, no hot water..etc so I wanted to make sure our hotel situation was taken care of nicely. Being that I couldn't find anything useful, I decided to trust our cousins input. They stayed here last year that's from the U.S. like us. He said it was "pretty good" as his wealthy in-laws had them stay here w/ his infant daughter. So I took his word for it. Our backup plan was White Swan or the likes. My skepticism went away when we arrived. After the 3rd day, my wife quickly said lets book this same hotel, same rooms if we can for our returning week. Basically, we stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks.|Here are the highlights;|- Rooms were clean and staff was wonderful. A quick call and they helped take care of things. Our bathroom personal side mirror fell, one call and it was fixed the same day. The staff open the door for you when you arrive in your vehicle and they help you w/ your luggage.|- Rooms didn't smell and had a 5 star hotel feel to it. Don't quote me, but i think it's a 3 star hotel. All the buttons for lights and curtains were modern and so was everything else IMO. Everything was a touch of a button and worked. Ice cold A/C for the 90 deg , 85% humidity weather.|- Bathroom was modern, nice, and clean. Shower room was similar and the pressure of the water was very strong.|- All the amenities we needed were there; soap, lotion, shampoo, slippers, tooth brush, tooth paste, shower cap..etc. There's a wire in the shower for you to hang your clothes for laundry. Free bottled water like all the hotels in China. Free Coffee. USB plugs for your phones. Everything's in plain site. Large flat screen TV w/ over 60 channels. I'm saying this because we stayed at another 3-5 star hotel and the TV was tiny w/ 10 channels.|- Nice swimming pool and a gym room/weight room. It's not large, but it gets the job done if you feel the need to lift weights. Has a traditional dry sauna.|- A good restaurant down below. There are other buildings out back that belong to Yingbin. I'm not sure how they're all related. ||Needless to say again, we love it here. We're planning to come back here again. Hopefully soon or the...
Read moreWe stayed in this hotel for two nights recently. The room was large and comfortable with all that you'd expect in a hotel of this standard in China. The wifi was good. The bathroom was lovely and spacious. The hotel is close to People's Park, SunYatSen Memorial Hall, and Yuexiu Park. People have said that that there are limited food options close to this hotel. This is not the case. If you go out of the hotel and turn left, walk about 100 metres and then turn left again, you will find many small food outlets selling fruit, breakfast food, and anything else you might need. It is a Chinese neighbourhood so there are limited western options. The hotel is also close to lots of smaller shops on Renmin Road, where you can buy glasses, and Zhongshan Road. There are larger shops in a mall on Zhongshan Road, just by the subway station and you can walk to he pedestrian area on Beijing Road. The subway station is about 400 m from the hotel and from there you can go directly to Guangzhou South station or Guangzhou Railway station. We didn't have time to try the gym or the swimming pool but perhaps we...
Read moreJust stayed here for three nights. It was wonderful -- rooms were huge and luxurious, hotel furnishings and decor of the highest level. It was formerly the government hotel for the highest level of visitors (e.g. Richard Nixon!), but now under private management. We were able to walk easily to wonderful shopping and tourist areas (e.g. Beijing Road, Shamian, QingPing) easily. Hotel desk staff spoke good English (mirabile dictu in Guangzhou!), and hotel food excellent. Our room was larger than my spacious living room in Boston, and bathroom equally spacious and well fitted. It was first class in every way (and even with an indoor swimming pool). Additionally, within the compound is the hourly direct CTS bus to Hong Kong-Kowloon and Hong Kong Airport -- no schlepp to RR or bus station upon departure. ||If you go for the international chains, you can pay $750 for the same degree of comfort (but without the international atmosphere). Here you get the comfort and all amenities but at $60 or less. Go for it! Very highly...
