We moved to the Mehood Lestie after booking our first hotel online, arriving and being very disappointed. Moving here was a revelation. The rooms were stylishly decorated, very big and included, sofas, large beds, amazing bathrooms with separate bath and showers and massive TVs with movies and TV from around the world. There was even a Chinese tea set (with free tea) western style coffee and fruit delivered to the room every day.||||Downstairs, there was a tea lounge with various free teas (with Chinese tea sets of course) a coffee machine and as many snacks, cakes and fruit as you might want. This room was very popular and we made a beeline there at least once a day. There was even a free selection of things you might need in reception, including insect repellent, plasters, snacks, moisturiser, deodorant.... and free bottles of water wherever and whenever you might need them.||||The breakfast buffet was good too - although it was hosted in the main hotel, which is a 10-second walk from the Mehood. There was freshly made noodles, as well as an extensive buffet, featuring an amazing array of Chinese food.||||The location was a 2-minute walk to the Muslim Quarter and a 5-minute walk to the Bello Tower, so it couldn't be any better.||||If I had a complaint, it would be that there needs to non-smoking rooms. We don't smoke and when we first arrived the room did smell pretty badly of smoke, and it took a few days to dissipate. Once we got over that though, the place was amazing and a real change to what we'd been used to in other...
Read moreAs with anything in China, the appearance matters but the details don’t. As many of the locals can’t really distinguish between the sizzle and the steak, it’s really a hotel geared towards locals. Knowing that, if you’re expecting this to live up to the Intl brands it will fall on its face.||||First the good! The location is right near Liede and oversees the river. The service is actually not bad for a local hotel and they were pretty courteous. The bed was comfortable and there’s a small somewhat useful gym.||||Now the bad - in every way the details were “mainlanded” The entranceway has gaudy glittery statues to get locals to take photos, fake green plants, elevators with paper taped on the wall meant to look like an expensive painting. The room will slightly smell of smoke because the target market is locals and they tend to not give AF. ||||The worst part was breakfast. Staff very courteous but the food was pig trough. Selection sucks, not fresh - hundreds of people packed elbow to elbow in a zoo like structure. Even the coffee they managed to F up as it tasted like pure dirt. Even though it’s included I recommend avoiding it.||||My suggestion would be to go a bit cheaper and go to crowne plaza or Sheraton. There’s something about the details of the internationally managed hotels that the Chinese ones are still maybe 100 or so years away from catching as the expectations, standards, investment, decoration, are...
Read moreOur family of 10 stayed at the hotel for at one night during the Easter Break. The hotel is located on an old street and is about 5 mins walk from the nearest MRT. Staff at the hotel were friendly and served free fruits and welcome drinks for the guests. ||Although the hotel was newly renovated, it still looks a bit dated. The rooms were considered small, in Mainland standard, but was acceptable because it was clean. The worst part was the toilets and basins. There was blocked drainage in the toilets and basin in some rooms. When we flushed the toilet, the toilet water flushed back causing a flood (gross!!) and some of my relatives had to go to the lobby and used the public washrooms. We overheard that the blockage also happened in some rooms. ||Breakfast was okay but in no way comparable to the international brand hotel. With the price we paid, I will instead add 20% more to stay in an international brand hotel at least I know what I...
