It was our second visit to this property and it continues to have an unbeatable location in the town center. Following the renovations from last time, the day beds are surely missed! Still, we were given a very nice upgrade as a platinum member to one of the executive rooms and breakfast. Breakfast had many entrees and generally was refilled. ||||What really made this stay memorable, though, was the staff. Katty was extremely helpful throughout our visit in arranging transfers to/from the airport as well as our day excursions. What really blew us away was the last day when we found out our flight to Beijing had been canceled. After a long call to the airline, it was becoming apparent we would not get rebooked for the same day. We quickly decided to embark on the eight-hour train journey instead. Eden and Rayna went above and beyond to help us at the front desk (Katty had a well deserved day off the day of our departure). These two lovely ladies assisted us with purchasing train tickets on the last train of the day, which cannot be purchased online without a Chinese bank account, which Rayna did on our behalf. ||||We had a limited time before heading to Harbin West station and rather than even having us look into a taxi, these ladies called for one of the hotel's drivers to be ready in mere minutes! The driver, Pu Li Meng, did not just leave us at the station, but came in with us and walked us to pick up our tickets and ensure we were headed to the right place; it was not the easiest station to navigate by any stretch. We made it with under five minutes to spare to the train platform and definitely could not have made it without the help of this amazing...
Read moreSubject: Mixed Experience at Harbin Wanda Holiday Hotel We recently stayed at Harbin Wanda Holiday Hotel and our overall experience was a mix of mostly lows and very little highs.Upon our arrival, we were disappointed by the front office staff's apparent lack of attention to our needs. It seemed they were more focused on walk-in customers rather than giving us the attention we expected as guests. To make matters worse, upon entering our room, we were shocked to find a previous customer's underwear hanging in the closet. When we brought this to the attention of the front desk, the response was not only unprofessional but also quite offensive. Instead of addressing the issue seriously, the staff jokingly asked my wife if the underwear belonged to her. This was not only inappropriate but also left us feeling disrespected.Additionally, throughout our stay, we noticed persistent unpleasant odors coming from the hotel room toilet. Despite bringing this to the attention of the staff, the issue was not resolved, and the unpleasant smell persisted. However, we must commend the Male duty manager, who went above and beyond to try and rectify the situation. His dedication to improving the hotel's services was evident, and he did his best to make our stay more comfortable. In conclusion, while there were positive aspects, the overall experience was marred by the initial lack of attention from the front office staff, the inappropriate response to a serious issue, and the ongoing problem with the...
Read moreSolid hotel at the head of Zongyang pedestrian street, about a mile of restaurants, shopping, occasional live entertainment, banking, that ends at the river where there are a couple parks. St. Sofia church is also within walking distance.
Hotel is modern, clean and as spacious as American HI's. Staff is efficient and accommodating. Some had English skills (to degree).
Reservations made 2 months ago - On (very late/early morning) arrival... No room. They had already made reservations at a hotel across town, but after some discussion we decided to stay in a room with a leaking bathroom ceiling for the night. Staff was awesome: two housekeepers, two maintenance guys and the night manager in and out trying to make things right, gave us that room for free, upgraded us to a suite for two nights and gave free breakfast buffet for a few days. I am a platinum member, but this was very unexpected customer service.
We checked out for a few days and they stored our bags for us. Checked back into the hotel and a new room with no issues. Bags delivered to room as well as the laundry I'd left for cleaning.
Breakfast buffet is about $9 and pretty good. The Cook will make fried eggs, scrambled or...
