JEN Kunming By Shangri-La — Hotel in Kunming

Jen by Shangri-La is a brand new addition to Kunming city center. Very convenient access to metro and walking distance to Plaza 66 and other malls.

Rooms - 5 stars The rooms are decent sized, beds are wonderfully firm (sorry soft bed lovers). Bathroom design was a bit peculiar but was informed by my cousin that it wasn’t built to be a hotel and was later converted (layout makes sense). Everything inside is brand new, love that rooms are carpetless (use those nice slippers) there are charging outlets everywhere! Each side of the bed has a wireless charging stand as well as usb c and a! Convenient. Minimalist, clean warm tones. Room is comfortable on the eyes.

Service - 5 stars Can’t complain here. Bellboy grabbed my weekender without me asking. Check in counter is bit small (looks like it should be a concierge corner but oh well). Smooth process, breakfast was next to the check in area can’t miss it and he directed us to guest elevators. Notable service was the guys at the fitness center. Very nice! First day we went to check out the gym he gave a short tour and even told us of the sauna inside the locker room. Also let us know that the gym is open 24 hours just not the sauna (6-10pm?) The next morning another guy was very helpful, checked to make sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast staff was on top of their duties. Loved the Guangdong congee made to order, the Yunnan rose pastries, the small pot rice noodles… etc. staff was very welcoming, cleaned up empty plates without asking- had a quick chat with Ivy about the elevation, kunming is 6000ft above sea level, also about all the delicious specialty foods and the famous brands that people come to...

Great location for Shopping,hotel staff with good attitude sincere friendly,subway station is right beside the hotel easily accessible to all over Kunming city.will be back...
