This is a surprise find. The price is extremely reasonable. From the desk receptionist to the cleaning lady, they provide excellent service. The rooms are quite roomy, with a window to the street and a large bathroom. I won't compare it to Ritz Carlton or the Hilton, but for the price, it is a gem. Clean, functional, and comfortable. The bed is on the hard side but not uncomfortably so. A buffet breakfast is provided across the street at a very reasonable cost; some room rates include breakfast. ||You can't beat the location - the metro is within walking distance. And within 10 minutes of walk is a nice shopping mall with a great selection of shops and restaurants offering delicious and inexpensive food. A surprise find is a haircut place right next door and plenty of local shops. The location is typical old Shanghai, residential and commercial combined, and offers many conveniences to the traveler. It is about 20 minutes from the airport. If you can travel within their schedule, a shuttle to the airport is free of charge. And even if you need a different schedule, they can call a car for you at an inexpensive rate. ||Yes, I recommend this hotel. It is a small boutique hotel with intimate service. For example, the front desk lady, a very smart, competent young lady called "Xiao Yao,小优," literally translates as Small Excellence, came to the restaurant across from the hotel to look for us and let us know the bus that would take us to the airport had arrived. ||We have been traveling for a month in China. It was our last night in Shanghai. While we were reluctant to bid farewell to China, a beautiful country to visit, Shanghai Future gave us a most satisfying experience to bid farewll to China. And help soothe our feelings of parting. Thank you, Shanghai Future, and thank you, China, for a most...
Read moreWe were upgraded from a family room for 3 into another with bigger beds and a hall by the super friendly reception because they said we 3 adults might find the family room we booked a wee bit squeezy. From the initial arrival tea to the considerate upgrade to information on shuttle service times to the airport to the tourist information on subway travel - the reception team has been exemplary. We also appreciated the breakfast selection - I normally eat fruit and grains/muesli with coffee - they have a good coffee machine which ground coffee for our drink. There is milk snd soy milk. No muesli - so I had a lovely porridge of red bean, big barley and millet - all healthy and comforting to the stomach. They have cornflakes but why select processed food over natural grains !?! Fruit was a big red dragon fruit with yoghurt. There is a choice of fried egg or hard boiled egg. Overall, its easy to adapt their selections for a healthier breakfast. The hotel is close to Subway Line 2 which goes direct to Pudong Airport and The Bund and financial...
Read moreJust a heads up. English is minimal so a translating app would be helpful. Also another tip if you are wanting to book the shuttle bus from the airport to accommodation use WeChat. It’s the easiest way to communicate with them & they would ask you to download it for communication. Besides all that the service was great and accomodating. Our flight arrived super early 7:30am to Shanghai & their schedule bus time starts at 10:00 but because we let them know ahead of time, they were very accommodating and picked us up early after airport processing. We arrived at the hotel around 9am and check in was open at 2pm but they let us check in early. Gave us an upgrade because our original rooms were being cleaned. This was great for us because we were travelling with young children and that let us help settle them in. The location is great. We are a 6min walk from the mall and a train station. There are was a convenient store...
