I had a very bad experience with both the driver and the front desk staff. They were not responsive or helpful when I needed assistance.I knew the hotel offered airport pick-up every hour, so I called in advance via Trip.com to confirm. I was told I had to coordinate directly with the driver.Since I was using an eSIM with no local number, I borrowed a phone from airport customer service to call the driver at 10:10 PM. He informed me that I had missed the 10 PM shuttle and asked me to wait for the 11 PM one. I was fine with that, and he even asked me to wait at the gate from 10:30 PM.However, the driver didn’t show up until 11:10 PM. I had to reenter the airport to make another call. This time, he told me to wait for the 12 AM shuttle because I had supposedly missed the 11 PM one. He claimed I hadn’t called him to confirm again, but I had already informed him earlier that I couldn’t call from my phone. He simply never showed up at 11 PM.I watched several hotel shuttle buses come and go, but none were for my hotel. In the end, I had to get a taxi myself. While on the way to the hotel, I called the front desk via Trip.com to let them know I was already in a taxi and to inform the driver. The front desk staff were unfriendly and unresponsive, telling me to contact the driver myself. The taxi cost me 160 RMB.When I finally reached the hotel, the front desk couldn’t offer a proper response or any real compensation. They only gave me a free breakfast voucher worth 25 RMB and a few...
Read moreIt was great that the hotel offered a free shuttle service to and from Shanghai Pudong Airport as we had a 10 hour layover and arrived just in time for bed. However, the driver of the shuttle bus who picked us up at the airport late at night did not offer to help with our luggage and I had to try to put our cases in the hold by myself while exhausted after a day of travelling. This led to me bumping hard into the open hold door, bouncing off it as I hit it with my nose. Lucky it wasn't my eyes, lucky I didn't break my nose. Help from the driver especially at that late hour would have been welcome. The room was huge which was a welcome surprise. I was glad there were tea making facilities in the room. The air conditioning unit was very good, warming up and cooling down quickly as needed. The bed was very comfortable and clean but the standard of cleanliness and upkeep of the actual room could have been better. The reception staff were polite and helpful. We struggled a bit at breakfast due to language. The food at breakfast was just about ok of me and unfortunately, the coffee and hot soy milk were both too sweet. I would have preferred a no sugar option. Some cutlery would have been helpful as I had to spread the butter on my toast with chopsticks! Overall, we were satisfied with our stay at Jinjiang Inn...
Read moreThis hotel provides their guests with free shuttle bus services to and from the airport. That’s why I chose to stay this time. It was available from 4:00am to 3:00pm, every hour, from the hotel to the airport. It operated on time. I booked a double room but actually a twin room was assigned to me. I have found the room quite large and spacious. Overall, my stay was comfortable.Breakfast was included and I have to say that it was not the best quality of Chinese breakfast. There was quite a good variety of hot meals available, such as friend rice, fried noodle, vegetable saute, two kinds of porridges, boiled eggs, sausages, spring rolls and so on. However, I have to say that members of staff working for the hotel’s breakfast room was not friendly at all. They spoked to me and even shouted something at me, even though I did not speak Chinese very well, and it was very difficult for me to communicate with them with my very limited Chinese. I just found that it was not a foreign-people-friendly place, even though it is supposed to be an ‘international airport hotel' near Shanghai...
