Joyful Star Hotel Pudong Airpot chenyang — Hotel in Shanghai

The best bed we had on our whole China trip! It was huge (2 smaller ones put together, European style) and was actually fairly soft. Nice fluffy pillows too. Breakfast was free and delicious, although mostly Chinese style dishes. We also used the free shuttle bus to the airport, which was the main reason we booked this hotel, along with being a great price. They also take you to the Disneyland! I wish we'd arrived early enough our last day to take advantage of that. All of the staff we encountered was very friendly and knew some English. There are a lot of dining options within a minute or two around the corner, which is great because I had no idea where this place actually was, no Google maps so we had a hard time knowing which metro line was closest and had to deal with some taxi issues. The room was spacious, but noisy- could hear everyone outside, in the hall, and our neighbors in the bathroom... Mostly very clean, although I saw hairs in the bathroom when the door was closed but no big deal. A little troubling were cracks that ran all over the room, some pretty large, so might need some structural refurbishment one of these days. The last complaint is an annoying flashing light on the ceiling, on the air unit. There's really no light outside at night so in the complete darkness that flashing was very obvious to me as a lighter sleeper and I really didn't sleep very well because of the noise and the flashing. If you have a sleeping mask and earplugs...

Wonderful Stay at Shanghai Joyful Star Hotel – Perfect for Disneyland & Family Trip!

Our stay at Shanghai Joyful Star Hotel was truly wonderful! The hotel has been recently renovated, and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Our children were especially happy with the accommodations, making it a great choice for families.

The complimentary breakfast had limited varieties, but the quality was good, and the dishes were clearly named (very helpful!). What we appreciated most was the early serving time (from 5:30 AM), allowing guests to have breakfast before heading to **Disneyland or the airport.

A big advantageof this hotel is the free shuttle services: Disneyland shuttle departs at 6:50 AM (perfect timing to start the day early!) Airport shuttle** (very convenient for travelers)

The staff were friendly and helpful, though we did face a language barrier when exploring local restaurants nearby. However, this wasn’t a major issue.

Overall, we highly recommend Shanghai Joyful Star Hotel—great value, clean rooms, convenient transport, and a pleasant experience. Would definitely stay here...

I had an overnight layover in Shanghai and decided to get a hotel nearby and this came up as one of the affordable options with shuttle to and from the airport.

Nice, little hotel. I got in around 10pm at night and was quickly checked in and told about what time to be ready for the shuttle to the airport the next morning.

Room itself was clean and comfortable; bathroom had the basic amenities like soap and shampoo (grapefruit and they smelled great!). Water flow was strong and warmed up quickly. It's so nice to be able to freshen up before continuing my journey.

In the morning, the same staff who checked me in the night before already prepared a paper bag of breakfast to go (since I was leaving before official breakfast started). Amazing service!

Took the free shuttle back to the airport...
