We actually booked two rooms for 2&3 nights each. This is based on one of the rooms. Location- depends what’s on your schedule. If Disney is a must then I think it’s perfect. Lots a families here with kids seemed to be going to Disney. But if you’d also like to do shopping and walk around the city, it’s pretty far even with the subway station nearby. The Kerry Parkside doesn’t have many shops. And we made a mistake as we need to travel back and forth between the hotel and Hong Qiao Station and even the taxi ride was more then an hour each way. Service: the check in wasn’t that pleasant. I came in with a toddler on my arms and a luggage but no one offered help with the luggage. The staff did checked me in earlier around 12:40 which is helpful. But then when I asked another staff which way was the rooms she answered me “go straight” without even lifting her head up ( I suppose she was busy with something else on her desk?!) not a big deal but quite surprising cold though. The service centre staff on the call were all super responsive and accommodating. I asked for a change of bed sheets and amenities for my child and they sent up staff immediately. The cleaning ladies were also very friendly and my toddler even wanted to play with them. Room - to my surprise the room was quite old and very damp. Even the sheets felt damp too. We called the service centre and asked for a change of sheets and a dehumidifier. They sent up everything immediately. The water tank of the dehumidifier was full every 3~4 hours. We didn’t book executive rooms so there was no coffee machine in the room just to be aware of. But the mini bar was free so you can get a little snack and drinks. There isn’t anything for kids in the regular rooms even when we booked with a kid on the guest list. But you can call and ask. They brought up kids amenities up as per requested. Overall, I think most of the staff here are friendly and helpful. Location is average. Regular rooms ( can’t judge the executive rooms as we didn’t stay in one of those) definitely need to be upgraded especially the humidity situation. And coffee machine should be provided...
Read moreThe hotel is located directly beside the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC), just 2 minutes walkway. Furthermore inside the Kerry Center you can find a Shopping Mall with a lot of good shops, restaurants and bars. The location is also quite good to explore Shanghai since the Metro Station is also only minutes walkway away from the hotel.||The hotel is a bit old, but the rooms are quite comfortable and clean. They offer the first round of mini bar for free (only 1 beer inside, the rest is juice), but anyhow, a good service. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is equipped with all necessary items. The staff of the hotel is very helpful and friendly. They really care for your complains immediately and offer you some compensation. Service in this hotel is good.||The hotel furthermore offers a venue for big events, as well as a restaurant and a very nice bar with good beer and drinks. The breakfast is plentiful and offers everything what you can expect from an international breakfast. The hotel has a parking garage which seems to be free for hotel guests. Before you leave, go to the concierge and ask for the exit ticket, otherwise it can cost you easily 100 RMB for overnight parking.||All in all we can say, that we are very satisfied with the hotel, the rooms and the service. Over the average. The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is pretty good. The location is the best for exhibitions at the SNIEC. Also good for exploring Shanghai. We can really recommend the hotel because of its very good service and offers. We had a comfortable and...
Read moreWhile other aspects of the hotel experience were pleasant, they were overshadowed by a negative experience caused by the staff.
Trying to make a long story short,
Premise: My friends were out and I was in my room, alone, enjoying a relaxing bath at night
a member of the hotel staff rang my doorbell 2-3 times before entering my room at 7:52 pm WITHOUT my permission
stayed for two minutes while I was WEARING ONLY A TOWEL that I rushed to grab because I did not have time to put on more before my door opened
I tried asking them to leave (I did not know they worked at the hotel at this point- I just knew that a stranger had entered my room and was not leaving)
when this problem escalated up to management to the point they reviewed the tapes (how they discovered it was a member of the staff) because I was upset to the point of crying, I was told multiple times that it was MY fault because I did not have the "Do Not Disturb" sign on my door so the person did not know that they couldn't enter my room at night without permission, that this routinely happens up until 9 pm at night.
This is NOT okay. I do not appreciate being blamed for the actions of a member of staff. I do not appreciate being told that everything was "ok", that I should feel safe in a hotel where a member of staff entered my room while I was NAKED. I did not feel safe and the only reason I stayed was because I had a friend in the room with me for the rest of the time- if I had been spending the night by myself then I would not...
